Service was great in this tiny plaza. Total neighborhood vibe. Ordered the eggplant parm, the buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich, fries, the double burger and a butter tart. They make their own bread so made the parm and chicken sandwiches come together with nice contrast . The burger was disappointing as it was not to the calibre of the other sandwiches, made of commercial patty and bun. Like I said loved the service so would suggest if you plan on continuing to serve burgers then serve on store made bread and make your own patties. See you soon!

My second visit here and I love this place! The food is so delicious and the staff is Uber friendly. Highly recommended! The buttermilk chicken sandwich and the egg tarts are to die for!

What a fabulous quaint restaurant, truly amazing. My wife and I stumbled across it and we are glad we did. The staff here are so friendly and very engaging. The food is tremendously good. I had the Lumberjack Chicken and waffle…WOW! Best chicken and waffle I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to comeback and try some more delicious food. This store also sells some pastries, we picked up the Portuguese Custard tarts. Very good! Thanks Green Canoe!!

Love the food here. I live on the other side of the city and make the commute just for the food. One of the best places to eat in the GTA. Staff are great and friendly. Highly recommended. You're also missing out if you don't get a custard tart!

Highly recommend!! Staff is SUPER friendly and food is amazing! We both had chicken and waffles with bacon; and it was the right mix of salty and sweet. The dish came with greens, fruit and beans which is a nice light touch to the dish. Would 100% make the drive back

The Green Canoe is modest in name, but delivers big time with great food and service. For a small business restaurant, complete with its own little general store, this place is truly a hidden gem in Leaside. Apart from the staple breakfast choices, I highly recommend any of their fried chicken options. The chicken in their Fried Chicken Sandwich and Buttermilk Chicken and Waffles are marinated for 24 hours before they hit the fryer. In the end, you're left with a crunchy, juicy piece of heaven—nothing short of amazing. That goes for the staff as well. They're always out, making sure everyone is taken care of, while food was being dished out, table by table. Expect to wait a little bit, but rest assured, the food is definitely worth the wait. Having only tried two things on their menu, I'm already excited to come back for more. Keep an eye out for the Green Canoe the next time you're in Leaside. Great things come in small packages, and this place is no exception.

A local alternative to the chain breakfast restaurants. Fresh food and friendly staff. Breakfast was comparably priced to alternatives and the bacon was crispy. Will come back to try lunch time items.

A hidden gem in Leaside. Fantastic food, friendly service, reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere make this my favourite place for breakfast, brunch or a quiet coffee. With tasty baked goods, and coffee, this is a great place to visit solo, or with friends. Also family friendly, there’s a selection of books, lego, and puzzles for kids. While they don’t offer gluten free options yet, their menu is still able to accommodate my gluten free and dairy alternatives.

Great breakfast spot, small family run feel, cozy family friendly atmosphere. Service is friendly and fast. There are even kids books for the kids to read. Would definitely come again.
