The library is lovely, it has some convenient space for work and studying, and the books are neatly organized.nnI am pretty disappointed about the working hours thoughhence the four stars. I would love to bring my daughter here after work, but with the library closing at 6 on weekdays it is not possible.nnIt would be great, if GVPL considered working till 9pm on weekdays. If it is not possible system-wide, maybe try it as a pilot at one of the branches. I am confident you would see an uptake of visitors and the community would appreciate it, especially families with children. Otherwise, it is a great place, thank you for your work!
I love the Nellie mcclung library . Its been my library since I was a child and I always enjoy bringing my son here as well. Great staff and a a wonderful and fun learning facility
Even if this library is a smaller branch, I still love it. It has amazing books you can choose from, study rooms, and it’s quiet! I can also enjoy the fresh air outside as the walk is not too long. I would recommend this library for those who live near the Cedar Hill Road. For me, this would be to-go branch.
As my local library branch, the Nellie Mclung library has always had a soft spot in my heart, and i have grown up with this library, seeing almost all of the library at its fullest! The kid section is filled with great younger children-infant reads, with plenty of selection! The seating in the kid section is comfortable, and there is always a free spot! The teen zone is great with close by power outlets, and a decent selection of manga my favourite if you like DC/Marvel comics, there are tons here! The staff here is so kind, always willing to give book recommendations. If you choose to put books on hold, they come quite fast! This is one of my favourite library’s of all time, and I recommend people check it out.
Very poor books hard copy availability in comparison with smaller towns like Saskatoon. Real shame for Victoria.
