I was at the Great Lakes Orthopedic Center to see Dr Galdes. I was informed at my last visit that xrays were certain. The entire staff was friendly and professional at the same time. This included those at main desk, x ray, getting to the referred room, and Dr. Galdes.nDr.Gades made clear that he knew my case was not an ordinary hip case. I appreciated that! He brought a copy of my xray to show my hailine fracture behind my right artificial hip was healed. His referral for PT was expected he informed us of PT in Cadillac because he knew we live an hour away from GreatLakes Orthopedic Center. I am very comfortable with Dr. Galdes. I trust him with my artificial hips, that are not ordinary.
Overall I'd say Dr Chuinard seems to know what he's doing. He was very attentive to my needs. However I had to wait 2+ hours past my appointment time to see him. It would have been nice to know he was that far behind I could have stayed at work and not had to go back to work until 730 pm. I don't know if that's so much him as office but overall I was pretty flustered. Will update after my next follow up if needed.
4 weeks plus, after total left-knee replacement surgery, Dr. Galdes, is awesome. Never having any orthopedic surgeries, I didn't know what to expect and my recovery has been way better, than I ever expected. Been walking without my walker or cane for the last 2 weeks, have needed little or no over the counter Tylenol since the beginning.nStarted out-patient physical therapy, within the first week post surgery. His team was available to answer any guestions I had.nI can't say enough good, about Dr. Galdes and his team. Saw him today, for my last post-surgery check-up and he said, see you in a year! Knowing all of this, I only wish, I would have had done it sooner and during nicer weather.
This IS the place to go for a Hip. The support staff was friendly, helpful, kind and supportive. I had Dr Austin, who was absolutely brilliant at every step .nI was grateful I chose this place because they are performing the latest and best practices.
I saw Dr. Wiersema today for a follow up appointment. He did not disappoint. In true GLOC fashion, I left the office informed, reassured and totally impressed by his professionalism, kindness and capability. If you have any orthopedic needs, GLOC is the only place to go!
