Great Fountain Fast Food

I don't know what's up with this restaurant and where all those good reviews came from, Great Fountain Fast Food is no doubt one of the worst Hong Kong style food I've ever eaten in my entire life a Chinese in my 40s, born and raised in HK. I ordered and +, with two drinks and . The drinks were ok, up to standard. But the food, oh my dear lord, were absolutely horrible. The was super dry. How dry? It couldn't be cut open with the plastic knife provided, the knife broke into two, I had to use a scissors. The fries were also extremely dry and hard like a stick. The was the main reason why I had to leave only one star. I love my entire life. I can have two, even three a day and not bored by the taste. This was the most tasteless I've ever had. The rice was hard, the taste of was bland and was confusing. There's shrimp and chicken in it. That's it. Nothing else. No onion, veggies or any garnish. I've never seen like this, but it's not that important. The shrimps were small, that's alright too coz I'm not expecting any real shrimp at this price point. But the chicken really pissed me off. They were all plain white and no taste. By "white" I meant anyone can tell just by looking at it those chicken pieces were boiled in clear water then put straight on the rice. It's completely tasteless. Some pieces had skin attached. Because it was boiled, not pan fried, there's no aroma from the grease. The fat still stuck in the skin and the texture was super disgusting. For a person who can finished three a day easily, this + took me two days to finished. I had to re-cook it with my own ingredients to make it edible. I can't wrap my mind around it. How on earth they dare to call themselves when they don't even know the basic steps to cook a ?

So was taken there by a friend. Hadn’t had sweet and sour pork in a while. It was good, a bit fatty but I don’t think it would taste good if it wasn’t. Hit the spot. She suggested their dry rice noodle with beef and told me they have good ‘wok hei’ which it did! This one in particular was a winner Came with a soup and a tea and I paid $23? For all of it. Good deal and it’s a food court so if you want to eat there you can. There’s a similarly named place in the food court, so it’s not the first one you see with mountain in the name.

Got the T40 Garlic Chicken Steak on Fried Rice. Comes with a soup and a drink. Service was very quick. Flavours were good and portions were generous. The iced tea is strong and has a hint of bitterness The soup is what you would find in a chinese restaurant and it was not oily. Lastly, the chicken steak was huge and was not fatty, which is more health conscious. The restaurant is relatively better than your typical chinese fast food takeout restaurant as you get higher quality ingredients for your money. However, wish they had more than just one piece of broccoli. Going to be back and try out their other popular dishes in the future!

Honestly, you cannot go wrong by visiting this place and getting the best bang for your buck! On the plus side, the food is GREAT… no wait it’s AWESOME. I usually get a repetitive order and mind you, its delicious every time its like ordering it for the first time and falling in love all over again. Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to dine in their food court again! Also the hot n sour soup is a must with the lemon tea!! Absolutely keep going back!

Great Fountain's foods are drugs. I get high on their food. Anna at the front of house is cute and a pleasure to look at. Great Fountain can take all of my money. I am addicted. Peace and Love, Gordon

Always a pleasant experience getting food from Great Fountain, aside from the fact that I keep forgetting they close Mondays and we go there... Tried several dishes, including their Top 5 pictures added of Top 5. Dishes are packed well with a good amount of toppings. Flavours are very nice. The complimentary soup and beverage are also tasty.

This is one of my favourite places to go to in Scarborough. The variety of options available can be overwhelming but there are many dishes worth trying. You can have breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast - the possibilities are endless. The prices have gone up recently with the material costs also going up but this is still one of the best bang for buck places around

I visited this restaurant after a over 15 + years of not coming here. My mom used to bring me to this area for piano lessons, and we used to come to grab a meal for takeout to bring home. I had a UberEats promo credit expiring, and was exploring the featured restaurants that had great ratings and Chinese food. I stumbled upon Great Fountain Fast Food, and was like wow they are still around?! I ordered the T89 Chicken with Portuguese Sauce Rice which included the soup of the day and bubble tea. I also ordered the classic T5 Cantonese Chow Mein that also came with a soup and I went with the Iced Lemon Tea drink. The Chicken with Portuguese Sauce Rice due to the fast food and quick Uber eats turn around time, was rice on the bottom layer and then the chicken and the Portuguese sauce on top. Not what you typically expect from a Chinese restaurant, but due to speed, they can’t be baking this dish for 10-15 minutes. Understandable, but it was still very tasty and hit the spot. The Cantonese Chow Mein was typical and exactly as described. This is a food court take out location, and not a Congee Wong/Queen type of restaurant, so the noodles/sauce/meats/vegetables were all in the same container. Noodles on the bottom layer, meats, vegetables and then sauce on top slowly making its way down to the noodles. The noodles was great, I enjoyed it, taste and sauce recipe exactly what I was looking for with the oyster sauce being the secret sauce/flavouring one is accustomed to. I especially liked the value pricing of the restaurant, as the Chinese restaurants around North York, where we came from has risen prices quite a bit higher and they don’t include a soup or drink. I then stumbled upon their Instagram page, @greatfountain and saw lots of postings, of food, and how they are family owned, and purchased from the original owner a few years back. A bunch of postings they made, made me very hungry and wanting more! I ended up returning for lunch a few days later with a few co workers and ordered the Thousand Island sauce spare ribs dish with rice. This came with two pieces of Chinese vegetables, a nice amount of fried rice and the pork pieces and the signature sauce drizzled on top of the pork. This was so delicious, and brought me back to my childhood. I said hello to the Instagram poster of @greatfountain and let her know how great the food was. This location inside the dynasty plaza and can be a bit hard to find, but look for the white banner and go inside and turn either left or right towards the food court signage. You can’t miss the restaurant as it’s in the middle with all their dishes accompanied with a picture lining all around the stall.

This place is amazing! Honestly the staff responsible for the restaurant are so welcoming. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years with my friends at lunch and the food is mouthwatering. They have super affordable prices for students and family alike. Huge thank you to the Great Fountain Family for feeding us over the last few years. Came here to try because of TikTok. Ordered the Salt and Spicy Pork Chop with Squid, iced lemon tea. Food not bad and the iced lemon tea was really good as a lot of the places the tea base tastes bitter but here you can taste the tea flavor.
