What a wonderful dinner we had!  Gray Jay is a fine dinning restaurant with casual atmosphere.  I enjoyed the refreshing exotic cocktail and delicious tasting menu.  I admired all the details including the bamboo straw, the cut-in-front-of-you herbs in the sauce, the surprise complimentary homemade marshmallow-on-a-stick at the end of the meal, and much more. They also offer vegetarian option for the tasting menu.  This is an excellent place to hang out with friends and family.  I highly recommend it!

Loved our dinner at Gray Jay Hospitality. Their new location at Pretoria Bridge is amazing and central with a nice view of the canal.  The food and drinks are delicious.  They are a farm to table kitchen with all their foods made in house.  Service was solid it was really busy on Wednesday night, nonetheless, very impressed.   Favourite food was the mushroom and cheese croquette, by far.  We did the tasting menu.  The price is right for the quality and the amount of food we ate.   Loved it.  Definitely going back!

Very enjoyable dinner that consisted of a Chef’s and Wine tasting menu. Dishes were quite inventive and well balanced flavour-wise. We did note that there were significant differences in what the menu described and what was served. Most of the wine pairings worked very well. Service was excellent although it was a might bit rushed between courses. The PB and J dessert was excellent. Somewhat pricey.

Excellent VEGAN menu, available by request!  My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals served with vegan wine yes, wine can be non-vegan.  Noticeable quality in seasonal ingredients and very well prepared.  Highly recommend for special occasions, or anytime!

This was my first tasting menu experience and by far some of the best food I’ve had.  I did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and was blown away by the complexity and flavours of each dish with the paired wine. Over the course of 3 hours I was overwhelmed with each dish as night went on.  The sommelier was very insightful and is a master of her craft. Shout out Brittany! Nat made myself and a friend 2 fantastic cocktails.  If you are looking to try fine dining in Ottawa this is definitely where I would start.  I look forward to coming in the summer season to see what new creations they come up with.

We enjoyed our experience at Gray Jay. We ordered the entire menu as we were a group of 5 and wanted to try most of the items. The crab cakes, scallops and cucumber salad were the best. Why the 4 stars? The lamb, which is $37 was really disappointing. It was really chewy and a small portion. We also mentioned it was one of the guests birthday and usually a good restaurant will bring out a little dessert or something from the kitchen but nothing was offered to us. Other than that the service was great and so were the drinks.

Great experience. Pricey, but local, fresh, unique, and cooked/assembled with care. Staff are quick and attentive, while also detail oriented. Got a little bit of everything, and really enjoyed it. If you enjoy very tasty details and decent portions with insightful reccomendations, this is a good place. Good spot for a second or third date.

Went for dinner, and had a very good experience.   Eclectic local fare, accompanied by mostly imported wine.  The sommelier was very good in describing the flavors to look for as opposed to those silly abstract descriptions that tell you nothing about the taste.  Definitely get the wine pairing if you go.

One of the best meals I've ever had!  Service presentation, and taste were all excellent. All locally sourced. Cocktails and wine were excellent too.  Vegetarian options: Multiple excellent locally sourced vegetarian options.

Had a lovely locally sourced dinner at Gray Jay. Did chef's tasting menu. Every dish was so well balanced for textures and flavours. No single ingredient dominated in a dish. Food was so fresh, lots of mmmm. Had amuse bouche, cucumber salad, rabbit tartlet, zucchini fritters, Cornish hen, and desserts. The only dishes we wouldn't reorder were one of the desserts - caviar was a bit too fishy for our particular tastes. Service was lovely and sincere and cooking team was out talking to patrons. Great vibe in the restaurant, so chill. Will be back and recommending Gray Jay, so glad you're in Ottawa!!  Parking: Free parking out back.
