Super fun place to visit. So many varieties of food to browse and taste… fresh fruit, candied and smoked salmon, meat stuffed pastries, bread, cheese and crackers, poutine and beer, also crepes and more! Saw a lot of people eating fish and chips. Must be a popular item!nMany cute local shops and art galleries to explore.nReally enjoyed our visit here!!!
A really interesting place to visit in Vancouver, although it can be very over stimulating for some people.nnI was in a group of 4 who visited mid-day on a Friday and it was busy. The inside can be tight at times between the stalls and crowds, so just be aware of that. We grabbed a water taxi from the downtown side for a couple of bucks and were dropped right outside.nnThere are various stalls selling fruit, meat, pasta, fish, dessert, cheese and everything in-between. Most are super friendly and will take the ear off you about their products, which is great if you're interested. Some will even off you samples.nnThere are public toilets, plenty of food stalls and the other buildings on the island are significantly quieter than the food hall.nnThere seems to be parking on the island, although it's limited and you've to yield to the walkers/cyclists.nnWould recommend seeing this on a trip to Vancouver.
I recently spent an afternoon exploring the marina area near Granville Island Public Market, and it was a wonderful experience. The marina is beautiful, with rows of sailboats and kayaks lined up against the sparkling water, creating a picturesque and relaxing scene. A great park space is nearby where people gather to sit on the grass, picnic, or just take in the view, perfect for unwinding on a sunny day.nnGranville Island Public Market is the real highlight. It offers a fantastic selection of fresh seafood, baked goods, and artisan products, making it an ideal spot for dinner or to stock up on unique treats. There are also plenty of little shops and galleries to browse through if you’re in the mood to shop for local crafts.nnIf you’re looking for a bit of adventure, there are harbor cruises and even seal tours departing right from the marina, adding a fun and memorable experience to your visit. This area is a gem, full of vibrant energy, great food, and stunning scenery. Highly recommend spending an afternoon or evening here!
Granville Island Public Market is a fantastic spot, especially for tourists looking to explore something unique. It offers a wide variety of specialty foods, fresh produce, local art, handmade crafts, and other one-of-a-kind items. As a local, I like to visit occasionally, either to see what's new or to bring friends visiting from abroad.nnThe atmosphere is vibrant and enjoyable, though dining in the market can be a bit challenging. It’s often very crowded, especially during peak seasons like summer when cruise ships dock at Vancouver Waterfront, or around major holidays like Christmas and New Year. Finding a seat can be a bit of a dilemma. You're often stuck deciding whether to grab food first or find a place to sit.nnParking is another downside. It’s expensive and limited. If you plan to stay for a while, public transit is definitely the better option.nnDespite a few inconveniences, it's a lively and memorable place that many people will find interesting and worth visiting.
Interesting bustling market that isn’t a tourist trap. The locals love this place too. Tons of variety here, you can buy fresh fruit and veggies, fresh seafood, Italian food, German food, French food, etc.nnWe also saw cafes, butcher shops, grocery shops, spice shops, ice cream shops, bakeries, jewelry stands, flower shops and this cool shop that only sold pickles and pickle socks! Very reasonable prices too, we bought a pepperoni stick from one stall and it was only $1.25! Perfect snack to munch on while walking around the market.nnThey have a central food court that’s filled with unique places to eat didn’t see a lot of chain restaurants and lots of seating to sit down and enjoy your meal. Some notable places included a stall that sold soup/broth, another that sold Montreal smoked meat + fresh bagels, and one that sold pot pies this one was super popular! Worth a visit!
