Was present for a banquet on the weekend….tickets for this event were 32 and change… we all assumed that being at a Country Club, this venue would likely be offering a meal that was served to our tables, this was not the case. In fact, water was not even placed on the tables. Water jugs and coffee were set on 2 tables, but the water ran out within the first half hour and was not topped up in the main hall. Most of the attendees were under the age of 17, yet no pop was provided- they had to purchase this at the bar. The most shocking was in fact, the food itself. It was “buffet style” which would have still been fine except for the fact that we paid 30+ for tickets, and received less food than what you would get in a happy meal. They ran out of salad before the first round of attendees got food and the person scooping out pasta told us there would be no salad until “seconds” happened. She was also extremely rude. There were still about 25-30 people left in the line for food when they ran out of chicken, salad and had about 2 pieces of desserts left. The photo concludes my 32$ meal. Very shocked and disappointed in what this venue had to offer.
I was Married here two weeks ago, and Overall we were very pleased with the result on the day. Our Day of coordinator Jimmy went above and beyond for us in every way, and was very accommodating when we asked for mobility assistance for elderly grandparents or the moving of decor from outside to inside! The only reason that we decided to give 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the bar staff not always being present during the open bar on the night of the wedding, and the inconsistencies with communication with the new owner for meetings during the transition as well as the tasting which was confirmed for 6 people, and we were seated and plated for 4. Very reasonably priced, and a lovely spot with the beautiful old barn foundation to give character to the space. I am very glad that we chose this location for our big day!
Honestly wish I could give this a higher score. The staff, organization and overall administration was good. Unfortunately, the course is in really really rough shape. I don't think i have ever played a course with so much dead grass and dirt. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and even practice areas showed significant degradation. Gounds were extremely hard where I almost broke a few tees trying to push it into the ground. Rocks on the tee box also put some good wear on my driver. The kitchen staff got hit by sickness unsure if it was covid, so all they had to offer were pre-made sandwiches. Again, staff was friendly and respectful. However the grounds were so dead, this course is unplayable. With a bit of maintenance and care would make a world of difference.
Came here for our daughters Provincial Softball PWSA awards banquet. Came hungry, due to its historical belly filling breakfasts and delicious banquet dinners...that was a mistake. After 2.5 hours of speeches and not a drop of water, other than the bathroom taps which according to public health signage are "unsafe for human consumption," our daughter was thrilled to have her table announced to go up to the buffet. Much to her chagrin, she was greeted with a massive soup bowl of Tang, and cookie sheets of unidentifiable Wonder bread sandwiches. Grand Valley, your loss of stick to your ribs home cooking and hospitality is detrimental to your survival. We are hopeful that you figure this out for the sake of your entire organization, as you're known as the hack tournament golf course with great food. If you don't have great food to offer, your greens arent't bringing any patrons to your door. Best of luck, hope your kitchen staff, wherever they went, are being praised by their new employers.
Don’t waste your time buying passes on underpar for this place. Next to impossible to book a time and when you go there there’s nobody on the course. They offer you a lunch with your deal and the kitchen is hardly ever available. The fairways are like asphalt. I really can’t say a nice thing about the place. Would be a good place for a drunken golf tournament.
I'm fairly new to the game but have visited a few courses in various locations in 2022 and this club seems decent for variety and maintenance on the course itself. I would also like to see a slightly wider range for food and drink options in the dining area, but the quality and service are good!
We had our wedding here this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing!! It all went so smoothly. The venue was clean, arranged, service was great, food was AMAZING!! Lots of comments from our guests on how delicious the food was! We also had our rehearsal dinner here I planned that last minute and Jimmy & Scott were very accommodating!! They had set up a private room for us - I was expecting a table, table cloths and plates but they went above & beyond and decorated it for us !! This made me tear up! I'm so happy they were a big part of our special day! They also took very good care of our set up team day of coordinators by arranging lunch for them & offering staff to help out with any set up! I can not recommend this place enough. One of the best choices I have ever made was having our wedding at Grand Valley!
Company Christmas Party hosted here AAAAMMMMMMAAAAAZING STAFF! We had a blast and other than the fun" not lasting long enough" we closed the place I have no complaints
I was part of a group that had rented half the hall for an end of the year get together and meal. The servers were very friendly and attentive! We had a select menu to order off of, and it seemed varied enough to offer something to please everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed my Nashville chicken on a pretzel bun with a side of delicious cole slaw! It is definitely something I would order again! The other people at my table enjoyed their meals and I heard other people in the room say their meals were good as well. This was my first meal at Grand Valley since the menu has changed and the other options on it sound really good, I'll be back!
Booked a tee time for today. Arrived for our 7:30am tee time from Mississauga. Go to check in and the pro shops told us there was a "glitch" in their system. We have to wait at least an hour to tee off. Very poorly run course. Don't book here because you won't have a tee time when you arrive.
