Governmental Employees Credit Union

Sadly we have been with this credit union for many many years. We have had numerous loans through them and they have gotten a lot of business from us. We have even talked them up to many people. Unfortunately we have been treated quite poorly the last few years and we have no other choice than to switch banks. We have been told numerous times that they would reach out and fix situations, and things have not been resolved. They have also changed policies and programs that have made us realize other banks and credit unions now the better way to go.

I was able to secure financing with a dealership for a toy at for HALF of what my current CU was offering. I find having the second place to bank kind of a hassle. For the savings, it was well worth it though. The online banking tools are a little lacking, and sluggish but sufficient to see that they received and applied my payments. Every time I call the branch, I hear a friendly voice and not a machine. Great service.

Mess up after mess up after mess up. Their employees also don't seem to be educated on different aspects of the business. Seem to always get someone that says one thing, it never happens, I call back, they tell me it was incorrect or wasn't done. Only the one branch that is hard to get to. They just changed their online system and too out valuable parts of it. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

Moved both of my loans and a credit card from other financials because GECU was so friendly and helpful. Happy to be a member at the credit union.
