The wait times especially during the most recent covid lock down are long. The food here is amazing and worth trying. My only complaint is they don't have a time limit for people who pre-book to arrive or an auto cancel feature if a party doesn't show up to their table within a time frame being called. Meaning that they can nit show up for a very long time. I waited 3 hours to be seated. With only 12 people ahead of me. After 3 hours 8 people where ahead of me. Until the staff called the remaining 8 people who call canceled and then I was able to be seated. If they didn't call from me constantly asking. I would have been waiting hours longer.
Traditional HK cafe with a modern twist. This cozy vibrantly decorated HK cafe has all the traditional items you would expect but with slight alterations such as putting bolognese sauce in brick toast and having creative fun desserts. We ordered the baked pork chop and fish with tomato sauce on rice with cheese over and they were quite tasty. The only issue is that there wasn't as much meat to eat all the rice with, but it respected the flavours of the original dish overall. In conclusion, a great HK cafe in North York that has some fun items.
To avoid line-up, we tend to go to Good Luck HK Cafe around 11-12 pm, before the lunch crowd. The service was prompt and at the end of the meal, the servers always asked for feedback. The portion was quite good and love the interesting new take on HK cake style drinks. If you like instant noodles, you have ALOT of choices here. Overall, parking was easy as you can find street parking along Yonge both sides and around the block too.
I ordered the Baked cheese with black truffle white sauce and chicken cutlet on rice and tom yum goong seafood instant noodle for dinner and the teddy bear lemon tea and HI milk tea as drinks. The instant noodles wasn’t great too salty and the baked cheese rice wasn’t something I would rave about as it wasn’t anything special. The HK milk tea is what I expected while the teddy bear lemon tea felt more of a gimmick than anything else. I doubt I would go back for the type of food I ordered because there are places that serve better versions but I will go back to try the other more simple meals like satay instant noodles. On a positive note, service is fast, they help clear your plates as quickly as possible, and the lady asked me how everything was when I went to pay my bill. The renovations are amazing but I would say the food is only mediocre.
I was here for my first time, and tried few different things. The Deep Fried Wonton was a bit over cooked very dark brown but tasty was fine. It looks way off compare to the photo on the menu. Fish ball was good, I like the curry sauce. I like the sauce that comes with the Seafood Instant Noodle. Others were good, above average. Milk tea was better than Lemon Tea. The lemon tea became tasteless after I pour the tea in the glass with ice and iced Bear. I would ask for no ice except the bear next time to try again if I will come again next time
We called to ask if there were any tables available for 5 people, the person on the phone told us yes but once we got there we waited 30 minutes to get seated. The food was good and fresh but I think their seating could be improved. For a group of 5 we were considered a large party and they had to wait until a row of tables were free instead of pushing together all the free tables. There were many groups of 2 coming in after us and getting seated right away. I really liked their baked dish and the HK milk tea. The pineapple bun with butter is also a hit. This is good quality Hong Kong cafe style food.
Ordered multiple dishes via take out. Quality of food was good, however, the portion sizes seemed a bit small given the price. All or most orders included a drink which is similar to other HK cafes. Recommended place to check out if in the Yonge-Finch area. If looking to share dishes, it might not be enough to feed multiple people and may need to order a bit extra. Also recommended to come earlier as it's usually during peak times at lunch or dinner where there is a line up. There is also limited street parking on Yonge to best to park nearby at Finch or on the side streets.
I was so excited to visit a place with HK foods and snacks. It was a cute small restaurant with a large selection. The food was alright but the service was great. The teddy bear milk tea was rlly cute and tasted good. I did enjoy the rice rolls but the food was okay. My friend didn't enjoy it that much. I came here with friends and we waited about and hour and a half to be seated which I can understand because it was a small location. I don't think I would wait that long to eat here again but if you haven't tried this place yet and love HK food, I would give it a shot!
I echo from others service is not great. You have to scan QR code and go to a link to order but it takes longer than just telling the server if you only are asking for one or two items. Disappointed that some items shown on the paper menu were "sold out" like peanut butter french toast. How can that be sold out? I know they had peanut butter in another dish we ordered and it can't be bread, what gives? Otherwise, food we ordered was tasty and came fast. I do like their milk tea but serving it in a paper cup affects some of the taste dining in. Overall, place is good for a try when in the area but not worth it as there are cheaper and better options in Markham/Scarborough area. You have to factor in parking in the area, lineups, etc. Not worth the trip. Parking: Not much free parking avail in the area.
Taste was decent with good selections. Instagram worthy cold drinks with teddy bear shaped ice were cute. Wait time wasn’t bad as we were okay sitting at the “bar seats” against the window. Kitchen and wait staff were both efficient. Ordering was done through QR code. Glad to know that they accept credit card, debit, and cash as payment methods.
