I have been lucky enough to attend several of Lauren's clinics on Horse Behavior. Her presentations are well organized and the content is clear and concise; providing fact charts and examples/scenarios to further clarify her points. Lauren makes excellent use of video and other media to illustrate her instructional topic. Good Horsemanship is dedicated to improving our understanding of our horses needs (The Four F's), and puts 'our requests' into the horses' perspective-for all types of riders. Lauren's understanding of horses' behavior is "Certified"-the help and understanding she provides to her clients, human and equine, is truly amazing. She kindly reminds us that the horse's behavior is the result of our behavior. Our behavior isn't bad, there may just be a different way to approach a difficult situation. I wish I lived close enough to take riding lessons, and attend her Barn Events! I love her blog/FaceBook page!

Lauren is my most trusted person I turn to for guidance on how to be a better horsewoman. She has taught me that when I feel I need to use force with a horse, it is an indication that what I actually need is to step back and evaluate the situation, because most of the time there is a better and more effective way to get the job done. Lauren is patient and positive and never tries to make her students feel stupid for asking a question. On the contrary, Lauren has made it clear that there are no stupid questions, and she is approachable, thoughtful, and clearly cares about her students and our horses. In my work as a trimmer, I use what I have learned from Lauren every day, and as a result have been able to handle and trim horses others cannot. We have been working together for a few years now, and I am so grateful for all that she shares with me of her knowledge and grace. Keep up the amazing work Lauren :-))

I have wanted a horse pretty much since the day I knew what a horse was. I have empirical proof of this by way of childhood scribblers boldly announcing I would own thousands of horses one day. It took me 49 years to make my dream of owning a horse come true and I don't think any of it would have happened without Lauren. In my early twenties I had a harrowing experience on a horse that could have easily cost me my life. The residual fear that stuck with me from that experience, along with the twists life takes, kept me from horseback riding until much later in my life. Determined to face my fear and pursue my dream of one day owning my own horse, I was incredibly fortunate to have in my own backyard a behavioural scientist who could teach me first, before I even got back on a horse, how a horse thinks, perceives, senses and communicates. Without this knowledge I surely would have been lost and I am certain my "joy factor" which have been much diminished. A relationship with a horse is an utterly unique experience and Lauren has the ability to both educate her students and coach her riders, who in many instances are one in the same. Lauren taught me, from the ground up, how to work with my horse: how to handle her, train her, be safe around her (a piece that so many of us miss in our horse training!) and eventually how to ride her. I am still learning every single day and sometimes the learning is hard and sometimes it is wonderful. Lauren demands my best (and my horse's best) and I enjoy the challenge, the feedback and work. I continue to learn with Lauren and evolve as a horsewoman and rider. I make many mistakes and luckily I have a very resilient horse who allows me to make those mistakes and work through them without doing lasting damage to my beautiful mare. Lauren has taught me that too. I have learned through Lauren that my horse and I are learning to dance: to lead, to listen, to partner and to grow together in our skill set and our relationship. I cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone who actually wants to understand the art and science of working with an equestrian partner. It is, as the saying goes, simple but not easy. In Lauren you have a competent and capable partner and teacher who will keep you safe, teach you how to understand your horse and set you up for a successful riding / working relationship.

I have attended Lauren's workshops. Lauren has totally changed my out look on communicating with my horses. In the horse world there are so many trainers wanting you to believe their method, it gets very confusing. I really trust Lauren, she is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She has always been kind enough to answer questions if I was having a difficult time with a horse. My only regret is that I don't live closer so I could attend more work shops!

Knew her from quite a few years ago. Found her to be untrustworthy, unkind and selfish. Didn't think she showed very good horsemanship skills either.
