Coast Mountain Academy (CMA) is an innovative and engaging independent university-preparatory high school in Squamish, British Columbia.

Story

Coast Mountain Academy is a university-preparatory school for students in grades 7 through 12, and was founded with a lofty goal to create a culture of curiosity and wonder while providing an education that is relevant in our modern world. We offer not only a rigorous academic program, but a well-rounded fine arts, athletics, and outdoor education program, all led by our spirited team of teachers. Our highly engaging classrooms take full advantage of our rich natural environment, while fostering sound academic skills in written and oral communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration – the keys to success in post-secondary and beyond.

Mission

Our Vision

Coast Mountain Academy is a co-educational day school whose primary goal is to support the holistic development of students through a diversity of pedagogical strategies. These include:

* Smaller class sizes to ensure a greater familiarity and more dedicated interaction between teacher and student;
* Longer class periods that facilitate programming for varied learning styles
* Scheduling that supports cross-curricular learning opportunities.

Students actively engage knowledge through a diversity of teaching styles specifically designed to support their existing strengths, while also challenging them to pursue new skills, broader perspectives, and deeper meaning.
