Golf Courses of Lawsonia

About

The Golf Courses of Lawsonia are two separate 18 hole courses, the Links and the Woodlands, located in south central Wisconsin. They are rich with history and are rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest Magazine.

Story

The Link Course, designed by Hall of Fame Architect William Langford in 1930, is arranged in an authentic Scottish Links tradition. Predominantly treeless, it features unusually elevated greens, gently rolling terrain, fescue grasses, steep-faced bunkers and very quick greens. The Woodlands Course meanders through tall timbers, twice reaching the shores of beautiful Green Lake. Designed by Rocky Roquemore, this modern course offers a stunning contrast to its predecessor with breathtaking panorama, often-seen prancing deer, bald eagles and their nests, turkeys, and fox. With over 90 bunkers and tight tree-lined fairways, the Woodlands is a must-play for any golfer!

Mission

Inspired by the estate's unspoiled nature, its beauty, design, and the spiritual foundation it stands upon, the Golf Courses of Lawsonia reflect integrity, brotherhood and professionalism. Lawsonia continuously strives to provide its guests with the highest quality of golf course standards by progressively maintaining outstanding service, grounds beatification, merchandise selection, fine food and prominent reputation.

Products

Travis Mathew, UnderArmor, Titleist, Greg Norman, Antigua, Cutter and Buck, Adidas, Footjoy, and Taylormade Equipment. Lawsonia also offers a full service restaurant at Langford's Pub Bar and Grill.

The Links course is truly a special course. Once you get past the first two holes, which have blind tee shots, it is simply a marvelous experience. This is old-school golf which has a unique feel and flavor compared to all the modern courses that are available for play. Nearly every green is raised, but many offer a "run-up" from the front. The greens are truly firm and fast. You will not likely lose many balls (that's a plus worth about $6-$10 by itself) but it will absolutely test your game and take you back in time....that's a pretty good deal.

Links course has a beautiful layout. Could be a bit more manicured. Plays harder than the slope as the greens are all elevated, pitched and well bunkered.

Went out early on a Saturday morning. Breakfast in the clubhouse was good. Bloody's were nice and spicy. The links course is challenging and very fun to play. Shot placement is a must. I will be back.

Very accommodating and friendly staff, If you haven't played Lawsonia golf courses, I highly recommend it. They are as challenging courses as you can find, two classic designs! Their service just keeps getting better and better! Go play Lawsonia!!

The Woodlands used to be one of my favorite courses in the state. Well, not anymore. They have been letting it go for the last three years or so and now it is a complete waste. The ponds are now disgusting swamps. Most of the tee boxes are a chewed up mess. Many of the greens have patches of bare dirt on them. And worst of all, the bunkers. About one third of the bunkers are full of rocks and exposed plastic drainage tubes and are closed with signs in them saying "Ground Under Repair". The remaining bunkers that are open are also full of rocks and look like they haven't been raked all year. We drove down from Appleton and paid $80 for green fees and more for drinks and food - what a disappointment. We could have stayed in the Fox Valley and played at Royal St Patrick's or Thornberry and saved drive time and money and played much better courses. I won't be going back. What a shame.
