Golden Terrace Restaurant

I am an extremely discerning critic. I have both worked in the hospitality/food industry and am personally just downright picky about what I eat. I have been to this restaurant over the years when it was...hohum, the Marigold......but since it has changed owners I have to say, this place has the best americanized chinese food in this city! And believe me, I would not take the time to write this if they weren't outstanding. Sure, the place is old, beat up, and could definitely use a reno, but who gives a s#!t? I dont go there for the ambiance, I go for the food. The lunch buffet is excellent. Always fresh and stocked and with good fresh meat and veggies, meat I can actually chew!! If there's anything I hate its cheap,sinewy meats And the chix balls actually have big chunks of chicken in them! The staff is very friendly too. Oh yeah, and I am pretty sensitive to monosodium glutamate but dont detect any in their food either. Going there next week to meet a friend for the lunch buffet!!

Excellent dim sum although the decoration is old and worn maybe more than 20+ years.

Went there for a banquet and the food has gotten surprisingly better from when it was Marigold
