Golden Spring Kay Cuisine

I was surprised by this place to say the least. Lobster. Served in a food court. Packaged in a take out box. I must have lost my mind for a second and ignored all the red flags, but I’m glad I did. To be honest the lobster wasn’t exceptional. However, it was really fresh and flavorful and definitely worth what we paid for it. The best thing we tried was the sweet and sour chicken. They had just run out of pork, but the chicken ended up being just what I needed. Everything we had was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. There wasn’t a dry bite. Above all else, the people of Golden Spring Kay are so kind and sweet. You can tell they really care about putting the best quality food out for their customers to enjoy.

Went by one day and notice how clean for such a food court restaurant. Today i decided to order a lobster set meal for 4 and was very impressed not only by the portion but the quality of the food. Everything was delicious including the soup. Lobster tastes fresh and meat is tender and chewy. I really hope they can stay in business and people started to know such place.

Lovely mom and pop runned Cantonese style takeout spot at a food court. Went there for the Maggi Lobster and it was delicious. Also ordered the steam chicken with vegetables and stir fried beef with black bean which were both great tasting and portions were good for the price point. Excellent service as we called a week ahead to reserve a lobster for our early Sunday night dinner. It gets crazy busy on the weekends with take out orders so I recommend ordering in advanced. 10/10 would come again!

The xmas new year set dinner is a very very good deal. The food quality is very good and the price is unbelievable. $69 for so much food. I pay extra for an additional noodles. It is located at a food court. Very busy sometimes. Be prepared to wait or call ahead to place an order.

Dec 2021 update- I went for lunch takeout today, ordered chicken congee with beef noodles; sweet and sour pork on rice and deep fried fish fillet with corn. They all tasted so so. Congee was tasteless, beef noodles was on the oily side and not well mixed, the oil used for fish fillet appears to be old and didn’t taste well. Only 2.5 stars for today. ————— This take out food court is very popular and has good rating amongst my Facebook group so I stopped by and got a lunch take out today. It’s located inside a Chinese mall on the second level. Their portion and quality are really good, price is only $6.99 plus tax, the stall is bright and very clean and it has 2 seafood tanks with live lobsters in it. Their lobster noodles is only $19 and will try that out next time when I visit. Please call and place order at least 20 minutes in advance to avoid long wait.

I have received take out from this little place in Scarborough many times now and have never been disappointed. They have a large group of devoted customers that come from all over the GTA. I've even gotten my friend hooked on Papa Kay's Singapore noodles. They don't use MSG and the food is always flavourful. It's just a tiny shop on the 2nd floor of the Oriental Centre and the food is prepared by the owner and his wife so they take very good care and pride in what is prepared. They have set family menus i.e. dinner for 4, etc, lobster dinners, etc. that are good deals. Groceries are so expensive these days that sometimes it's just better to pay to have someone else cook it when the cost is almost imperceptible given the hassle of prepping and cleaning up afterwards. The place is clean and bright. Since COVID, it's best to call in your order and also make sure they are open before arriving as their hours and days off are not as consistent as pre-COVID due to shortage of labour, etc. They used to have helpers but since COVID, it's just been the two of them. SO CALL BEFORE ARRIVING SO NOT TO WASTE YOUR TIME but it's worth the trip if they are open. They also cater but need advanced notice.

Really good food. Must come to eat here.
