This is a place I've driven by many, many, many times but never stopped to give it a try. It's a lesson in don't judge a book by its cover. At first glance it looks like a dump, has no traffic, I literally have never seen anyone walk in and imagine walking out regretting it. I could not have been more wrong. One day as I was driving by I thought, this place has been here for years, so they must be doing something right. I am happy I finally decided to give them a try. The food was great, really great and made with care. The chicken balls are some of my favourite. I definitely won't be waiting years to go back.
Unfortunately i was really underwhelmed with this restaurant. We tried it in August 2025. I didn't even take pictures of the food as the front of the menu was the best part of the experience. The rest of the menu just seemed off...nnThe people were nice but the egg roll was eh and the vegetable chow mein lacked flavor...nnThe menu was large but I just couldn't find something that I wanted to eat....this has NEVER happened to me as I love asian food.
Cannot recommend. We ordered many different dishes and didn’t enjoy any. Despite picking it up fresh and eating right away it did not taste fresh and we didn’t enjoy the flavours. We have been eating at GD for years but it’s no longer the same.
Moved here last year & just recently gave this place a try. The staff is very nice, restaurant is clean, and the food is amazing. The cheese wontons are my absolute favourite, easily the best ones I’ve ever had. 10/10!!!!!
The food has gone downhill in the last 3 yrs but they still have some okay dishes that can satisfy your craving for Chinese food.nnEgg rolls and spring rolls are NOT good monster clear, very mushy inside and greasy.nnThe Shanghai noodles are pretty good but they are not generous with the meat.nnChicken balls are pretty good and the wings aren’t bad but Ho Ho Chinese wings are WAY better!nLike 1000x’s better.nnChicken chop suey is good and potion is great.nThe fried rice tastes like they use frozen veggies and has a stale taste, hard to explain… but with a sauces meat or chicken dish, it goes down okay.nnDry ribs are very dry and over cooked, I don’t recommend those.nHoney garlic robs are not bad but pricey for what you get.nnThey over stuff servings of all specialty dishes with green peppers, mushy broccoli and onions.nI’d ask for less veggies in your meat dishes, you’ll thank me.nnThe menu offers dim sum items, steer clear and stick to standard Chinese, trust me on that one.nnMy recommendation, if you truly love Chinese, temper your expectations and you’ll be fine if you are craving Asian here in Jackson’s Point.nIt’s okay but not great if you’ve had good Chinese in Toronto. No comparisonnnOverall, it’s fine for the location but not great.
