Gold House Chinese Restaurant

I have found the new location and am so glad. I moved away from here two years ago and in Pictou County they do not have any just meat egg rolls and white. Am originally from Halifax but lived in Windsor a few years and discovered this place. I’m hooked now

We discovered this place just by doing a random Google search in the area. My wife being Chinese likes to try all the local Chinese restaurants. This is what you would call a diamond in the rough. The food is on point.nnThere is a very little that I would change. The only thing that I would actually criticize them for is that the slices of the green pepper were too large.nnOther than that everything was absolutely perfect I mean even the size of the peppers being large was more of a if they cut them smaller they wouldn't have to put as much in it but hey I don't mind getting extra food to eat.nnOverall it was an absolutely pleasant experience. It was a very quiet place to eat and enjoy a meal with my wife. She wants to bring the children because the food is just that excellent. We had a good conversation with the waiter and who appeared to be the owner. They are very pleasant people and customer service is top-notch

Called and ordered 2 combination plates. They said 45 minutes. Waited an hour. They tell us our foods not done but will be in 5 minutes. Wait 25 more minutes. Multiple people came ordered and left in the same time all of which were told the wait was only 20 minutes. Ended up waiting over an hour and a half with no apology from the staff. Very dissappinted. At $50 dollars for 2 combination plates it's definitely NOT worth the wait.

Ordered the home style tofu and rice for takeaway, the service was lovely and friendly, but the tofu was surprisingly bland.nnIt was labelled as spicy but there was no heat to it at all and it felt under-seasoned.nI’m keen to try some other items, but I can’t recommend that dish at all.nnThere was no one eating in when I collected my order, but quite a few people arriving for takeaway so they seem popular. My order was ready in 20minutes and was waiting for me when I arrived, still hot.

Went and drove to this place today, and when we arrived home - my beef chow mein isn’t even beef chow mein, it’s just sprouts with beef that looks like it’s been sliced from a cow that’s been dead for a month. And then the combo was awful and also not edible. Is this even Chinese food? Who’s cooking this? What is management doing? How can people even say this is good. They got my order wrong and the food is straight up disgusting
