Global Atomic is a fantastic store with trendy and edgy clothing, shoes and accessories. They provide superior customer service and they know their product extremely well. I have been a customer for years and I have no hesitation in highly recommending them. I have had nothing but great experiences at this store and it is by far my favorite in Vancouver.
This is a great place to buy clothes. I've been shopping here for years and am always impressed by what styles they bring in each season. I buy all my jeans here, winter jackets, shorts and shirts and it helps that the prices are very affordable. I'm a big fan of the brands they carry which are hard to find elsewhere. The staff is so knowledgeable about fashion they have somehow made me look in style which is not easy!!
I'm convinced the guy who works here is a wizard. As soon as I walked in he told me I was basic and pulled out a pair of jeans he thought I would buy. I tried on half a dozen pair of jeans but as much as I tried to fight it he chose the jeans for me. Then he sold me a shirt that was more me than I knew any clothes could be. Afraid to go back as I'll spend all of my on new clothes that I'll love but have no home to store them in anymore.
Owner Warren has been doing GAD for, what? , 20 years now and is always helpful and curates an insiders selection of pieces from hip urban streetwear designers of the moment; Once he gets to know you, he'll actually bring in pieces he thinks you'll like - and he's always right. He's also a 'big' fellow himself and appreciates the ever changing hipsters size fluctuations; Highly recommend!
Came in this past Saturday due to an enthusiastic recommendation and I genuinely think they're worth the hype. The coffee was beautiful and the staff offered amazing service with a great eye for fit and sizing, being extremely informed about their stock, and delivering it all with great personality. The loss of the point comes in due to some pricing and one of the satellite workers, namely their photographer. The pricing is fair on jeans for the quality, but the price tag on a basic t-shirt just seemed silly to me. The photographer would not stop making cracks about me controlling my partner's wardrobe choices, and it was entirely out of left field and just extremely grating. My partner is vain as hell, lol, and is a very particular dresser. He is also prone to impulse shopping, so he asks me for my opinions. My opinions were things like, "Yes, that shirt fits well but you never wear casual t-shirts so I don't think it's worth a purchase. Do what you want, though." Which was ALWAYS followed by some snarky comment by the photographer about how I must be lying or tricking him into a false sense of security, and how women control their boyfriend's wardrobe and make all the decisions, how I must be secretly so angry. It was grating because, if anything, he controls everythjng he's so choosy aha, but mostly because it just would. not. stop. We get it. You hate your wife. You told me your life was miserable since getting married, no exaggeration, five times. Sack up and leave her, and stop deflecting your miserable life onto me. I am not your wife. It was extremely off-putting. Butt he was just one person, and apparently going through some emotional issues, seeing me as a safe place to unload. People read the room wrong from time to time. Human and all that. It was just a real contrast because the rest of the workers were friendly, familiar but - not - unprofessional. So I guess I'd say they have a very close, casual vibe. With that comes casual social error. And that wouldn't be enough to lose a star elsewhere, but for the price and quality of the merchandise, it does here.
