I first visited Giordano's on my 8th grade field trip in the 90s and instantly fell in love. In 2002 I returned to the "basement location" to confirm that this really was the best pizza I've ever had...it was! Well in 2022 I returned here with my family to show my wife how amazing this pizza was, and even though it isn't in the basement anymore, the food quality is still second to none. I'm a fat man who is almost 40 and I am a pizza addict, so trust me when I say that I am experienced when it comes to taste! I stand by my statement that this is THE BEST PIZZA I have ever tasted. Third time confirming this and now I am making it official via this Google review! The pizza sauce is unique that makes everything taste so much better. The mozzarella wedges were so good that even my daughter, known as the world's pickiest eater, ate one and LIKED IT. The pizza is where it's at, though. We got a small meat lovers and believe me if there's only two of you you don't need more than that! This stuff is PACKED. Each slice probably equates to two to three slices of regular pizza at least. So good, so filling, so reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food. $27 for a small one of these pizzas is a value, you will have leftovers and your taste buds will never forget. Miguel was our server and he was amazing, too. Legit one of the best experiences I've ever had in terms of service and food quality. We will ALWAYS stop by here when we visit Chicago.
This house salad is great. The lemon vinaigrette is so fresh. Waiting on the deep dish pizza that takes 45 minutes to bake. The bar side is laid back and not busy at all. Bartender is very attentive and helpful! The crust is awesome! Definitely worth the wait.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Of course when you come to Chicago, you have to try the famous Chicago deep dish. Pizza was good but I prefer thin pizza. Calamari was super good! Fried perfectly and also had fried banana peppers and thinly sliced fried lemons. And the Caesar salad was good. Good dressing and good amount of Parmesan.
So I had to try out Giordano's since it's one of the popular deep dish pizza chains alongside Lou's. I have to say though that Giordano's did not live up to the standard I had with Lou's. Be aware that the pizza takes about 30 minutes to make!! Not a grab and go pizza spot. Food I got a personal pepperoni deep dish pizza since the personal size comes with limited topping/customization options. The cheese and pepperoni were pretty good and I like how the cheese is on top at Giordano's. But the crust was not good. It was soggy and was almost falling apart as I picked it up. I also thought that the pizza would come out in the silver pan, but it came out on a regular plate not sure if this was because it was a personal size or if it was cause it was like 9:30pm. Atmosphere A casual spot with plenty of booth or table seating.. It's got a lot of decorations with pizza related puns and Pricing My first ever Chicago pizza so don't have much experience to compare the prices to other Chicago pizzas. The small pizza says it serves 2 but I ate the whole thing was $21 and definitely filled me up. Service Service was super good. My server explained any questions I had and was very friendly. Estimated times for when the food would come out were given and I never felt like I was wondering when the food would come out. Other Located right on State street and within walking distance from many hotels in downtown Chicago.
Over hyped Pizza Chain! We went to Giordanos as suggested by couple of my friends and the place was huge. Staff is friendly. The vegetable pizza we have ordered came to us after 25 minutes as told by the waiter. We have ordered cheese bread and drinks. Drinks were so strong and nice. Cheese bread was so tasty and authentic. Vegetarian pizza was so disappointing actually. It was so heavy as expected but I wish it was more tasty than it was. I’ll try to order other pizzas whenever I go again.
So I had my first experience of a Chicago deep dish pizza at Giordano’s on Jackson Boulevard West and I can honestly say it was worth the wait. That wait was close to an hour and that is something you need to know before going for one. Pizzas are made fresh and given how thick they are, they take much longer than a traditional pizza. Great experience for foodies, Giordano's has been serving Chicago's famous deep dish pizza since 1974 and have a great selection of drinks to wash it down.
We initially had planned to dine in however, the 50 minute wait changed that plan to take out but it still took the better part of the hour to get our order. Nevertheless, the manager was very friendly and helpful with our experience and provided us with a 10% discount for our troubles. This is THE PLACE to get authentic Chicago Style pizza and it was well worth the wait for the amazing food we got. I have lived in New York for the last 7 years and I had honestly forgotten what REAL pizza was until I returned to sweet home, Chicago. Parking is always a consideration in Chicago so thinking ahead is a must.
A must for Chicago deep dish pizza! I went on a Friday, Giordanos was not too busy, I was there by myself. Service was a bit slow and waiter did not come by and check on me much. My water glass sat empty until i finally flagged the waiter down. I had a small meat lovers pizza. This pizza did not disappoint! If you like a deep dish pizza, Giordanos is the place to go! I have never had anything but the deep dish pizza.
This place is definitely filled up pretty quick and since it’s a deep dish pizza, give it a 50 minute wait time for the order! This is my first time trying deep dish pizza and I think Giordano’s did pretty good! Pizza is so filling! They will also help you customise your pizza with your own choice of fillings on the menu! Great service and good ambience!
It was a good deep dish pizza. I personally don’t enjoy how heavy and filling deep dish pizzas are, but this was a well made one. I would recommend ordering ahead of time as it takes about 45 minutes for them to make and cook their deep dishes. This is said on their menu so they do give a warning about the waiting time which is appreciated.
