One of the best sushi places I've been to in Edmonton. The restaurant was very spacious and it was so good to dine with the family. The taste of the food was very good, and the menu was varied which I really liked. I live in the south but that's not a problem at all.Food: 5/5
Gintaro has been my boyfriend and I's go-to Japanese restaurant for the past couple of months. When we went today with my parents, it wasn't very busy and so I felt the servers were more attentive compared to our first visit, when it had been a full house. We were served by two ladies who were both very polite and enthusiastic. Their menu is extensive, but I found that within the rolls section, many of them are quite similar. For example, the majority of rolls contain imitation crab meat, avocado and tobiko, so they may differ only by 2 or 3 ingredients. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just something to keep in mind if you plan to order a bunch of rolls. Although we have yet to try more items from their menu, our favorites so far are the takoyaki, sushi pizza, unagiya frying roll, ocean white pressed sushi and black pearl pressed sushi.
Tried it out for the first time yesterday. The staff were amazingly friendly. The sashimi portions were awesome. The pricing was on par or slightly cheaper than other Japanese restaurants in the city. The pressed sushi was tasty Ocean White. The beef tataki was also good. Only thing I would change would be the shredded daikon they used instead of onions for the beef tataki to be cut into smaller strips so it makes it easier to eat with the slices of beef. Some of the pieces were quite long. I will be ordering from here again.
Came by this place from word of mouth. It is a new restaurant that opened 5 months ago. It is hidden in the residential but those are the hidden gems. There is a variety of options from regular sushi and sashimi to deep fried rolls, regular rolls and pressed sushi. The pressed salmon, unagiya and kushiyaki have the same sauce, it is good but after a few bites of each it becomes one flavour on your palate. So I wouldn’t order all at once. The beef tataki sauce is good. And they have cabonara udon, I can not remember the name but it is gooddd… the unagi sushi is different than other places but the sauce makes it unique and delicious. The cod was a little on the dry side for me. The chop chop nigiri was marinated nicely and taste was a bit different than other places in a good way. Would come back again ^_^ Kid-friendliness: High chair and a good variety of cooker selection for them to eat Parking: Lots of parking in the plaza
This restaurant provides great foods and help the customers to get happy memories. I ordered nigiri mainly, and they were so tidy and delicious. The chef and server's service was so satisfying :- They gave us gyoza at no charge as well for the open event! The atmosphere is very comfortable as well, I strongly recommend people to visit here
Tucked away in the Caernarvon neighbourhood is this amazing restaurant. I came with a friend for an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour, presentation, and value of the food. To start, we had the veggie gyoza which was fried but not over cooked and the beef tataki which tasted great. I ordered the calamari tower roll which was beautifully presented, delicious, and unique. The calamari was perfectly cooked. The roll was a full meal in itself. My friend ordered the chicken katsu which came with a salad, rice, and miso soup. The chicken was hot and crispy as it had a thick breading. Overall our meal was terrific. I would definitely go back considering the vast array of food they have on the menu.
This is absolutely one of the best places to have sushi in Alberta! I was amazed to taste high quality food with fine price! I usually do not prefer having sushi rolls in Edmonton because most of time they are too sweet, too salty, and too hard with too much rice! But here in Gintaro, I just loved every sushi roll. They are perfectly tasty, soft, and rich!
Delicious!! One of the best sushi and japanese food in Edmonton. Portion was big, food was super fresh, and tasted amazing! Definitely recommend trying. Even bought 4 extra rolls for take out.Food: 5/5
The food here is fantastic, authentic Japanese food. The value is great, the rolls are not overwhelming with rice and have lots of filling, so you are getting your money's worth. The presentation of the food is outstanding. This place just opened a few months ago, but I will definitely be back soon.Food: 5/5
Such a nice restaurant! The staff are incredibly kind & friendly!! It's an amazing place to visit if you're on the northside or live in the area. Glad I was able to check this place out - I hope they continue to thrive!
