A classic Cantonese style restaurant in Edmonton's Chinatown. Restaurants like this aren't common anymore and it was a treat and nostalgic to be able to eat here. Servers were fast and efficient and the quality of food was expected. Non-rushed and ample space inside. Parking: Ample parking outside around the building and on nearby streets.
Last good Chinese restaurant at DT/Chinatown, always a great experience about the food, they know what they doing, and the staff so fast, if you looking something very traditional Chinese/Cantonese food, this is place you go, if you never visit here, you must try some food. They have over 300 items on menu, hard to chose, but just look other table you will have ideas. Super recommend chili oil, mix with rice or any meat so good. Kid-friendliness: great for family eating out Parking: lots of free park in front or rear Wheelchair accessibility: wheelchair accessible
Serving was quick, food was hot, some of the best ginger beef in town - menu #201 Chilli oil/spice was served on the side at our request, seafood and veggies - menu #230 - was awesome. Definitely go again!Food: 5/5
Cantonese style Chinese food in a unassuming setting. Big portion and decent price. Overall good quality food . The parking lot is always full at weekends. Gets crowded during lunch hours.
The food came out really quick and everything was hot. The food was a little oily, but overall really good. Decent price for the serving size.
A classic Edmonton Hong Kong-style café in Chinatown South that has been around for decades. The portions are generous and well-priced around $10-15. Expect leftovers if you order more than one dish and definitely try the Hong Kong iced tea!
I feel like maybe I didn’t order the right food, the food didn’t impress me, I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of wonton soup I ordered, but this place is called wonton house, anyway, it was ok. portions good, service is not bad considering there’s only 2 waitresses Parking is tight, be careful. This place is cash only, I didn’t know that, had to use the bank machine in the restaurant, not a big fan on that.
This is the spot! This is the place you need to go when you want some absolutely awesome Chinese food. I'm not a Chinese food connoisseur, but this was hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was so hot, fresh, flavourful and beautifully cooked. We walked in as a party of 7, with about 45 minutes until they closed and they fed us all and had us out the door by 10 minutes after close. Our party had a couple of less "adventurous" eaters and they loved everything too. Every single dish was good. Not a scrap left! It was one of those meals where everyone barely visited because we were too busy stuffing our faces. I would give it a full five stars, but this is a restaurant you go to for the FOOD ONLY. It is a cash only operation, and the exterior and interior are very dated and a bit rough around the edges, but soooo worth it. Our waitress was fantastic, she was so helpful and friendly and had a good sense of humour. I will definitely make a point of going again!
Dine in or takeout only, no delivery. Within walking distance of the Edmonton Conference Centre and Canada Place. While the building might look simple inside and out, the kind staff and hot food with generous portions are the focus. This establishment has been around for quite a while likely due to then focusing on what's important. The menu is massive with something for everyone. I'll be looking forward to my next opportunity to visit. Parking: The LRT does make parking a bit challenging but it is available.
Double Greeting has been such a staple in Chinatown for so many of us. They were a go-to for late night eats, they’re budget friendly and food has always been consistent. It’s the nostalgic Hong Kong/ Cantonese cafe vibes with the classic dishes that come out quick and hot. We recently revisited Double Greeting for dinner after the Animethon and were starving for some carbs. Now if you’re a native to Edmonton, every family is always going to have 1 staple here that you’ll always get. For us it’s the brisket with rice or with the fried noodles. The brisket and the sauce is SO good. Tender meaty bites of beef with the savory beef gravy to spoon over your selected carbs. We opted for their Deep Fried Pork with special salt, Stir Fried Seafood over Crispy Noodles and Salted Fish Fried Rice. Each plate runs for about $15+ and between the 4 of us, we each had a small box of take out for a second dinner! If you haven’t already and you’re in need of a fix of some super yummy hong kong dishes, make your way over to Double Greeting.
