We love Gather in Perth so much. Their food is creative and delicious, and the people are wonderful. Lunch is their main offering and the menu is truly unique. Do check out the menu. You can get a sandwich between $10 and $18, which includes a side soup or salad. The soups change regularly and are very yummy. Gluten-free bread and vegan options are available. The co-owners have decades of experience in the hospitality industry. James and Kerri have both worked in and run high-end restaurants -- and it really shows. They go the extra mile whipped maple butter on sandwiches and they take excellent care of their customers offering towels to dry off after coming in from a downpour. More important tidbits... A local farm provides seasonal veggies. They have great beers from local microbreweries. Ask for the gluten-free, dairy-free carrot cake it is incredible. If you get the opportunity, ask Kerri to describe food and drink pairing she is a sommelier or ask James how he prepared the dish you ate. They are really passionate about what they do and it is a joy to listen to them. For a special occasion, book ahead for one of their monthly dinners. The dinner menu changes every month. If you're looking for amazing food and a pleasurable dining experience, we really recommend checking out Gather. We've been several times since they opened last year, so our photos are from a few different meals.
So happy to have stopped here! Personally, I’m all about the detail and this restaurant had me sold from the vintage porch light in the entrance. We were greeted right away and seated in the nook area which was nice because it was a bit secluded from the other tables. The style and Aesthetic gives early 1900, from the tables/chairs, the wall and ceilings + chandeliers. I also enjoyed that the napkins are cloth but not matched.. it might seem odd to some but it gives this spot character. When we ordered our drinks, two different types of their iced tea, the server mentioned that the i e cubes were also of the same tea which does not dilute the taste.. I thought that was fantastic and such a simple touch to elevate the experience. As for the meal, I ordered the buffalo tofu sandwich and I highly recommend trying it out! The Doritos added a crunchy texture and the fresh croissant was mouth watering. We could not leave before trying out their desserts which was the cherry on top! Their vegan carrot cake was tasty and their Panna Cotta topped with blueberry was to die for. I didn’t want to leave Perth as I wanted to come here for another meal. I can see why they have 5 stars and I highly recommend making this a stop! Thank you for the fantastic experience!
This restaurant is amazing ~ The most upscale delicious food & fantastic service ~ Alida is an amazing waitress and always makes us feel welcome. The real brewed iced tea is superb the ice cubes are frozen tea so the tea is not watered down when they melt. I highly recommend this gem in Perth.
Ordered a quick lunch for pickup. It was a super friendly experience. The sandwiches were fresh and super tasty! We had the Curry Chicken and Egg Salad. 100% value for your $$ and a do again for us.Food: 5/5
What a gem in beautiful downtown Perth! James and his wife are the most excellent hosts and he actually met us at the door and spent some time talking about their move to Perth. Food is amazingly fresh and made in house. We had the bahn mi sandwich and soup of the day. Also some great beers from Perth Brewing. Our server April was fantastic. Can't wait to come back and highly recommend! Thanks so much guys!
Lovely restraunt that has an eclectic but stunning decor. The food is good, we had two different soaps and a side salad / smoked Salmon dish. The staff was lovely, would recommend a stop in.
54 minutes from Ottawa is Perth Ontario where you must go to try Gather’s exceptional fare. Make time to enjoy each savoury meal made fresh and emotionally satisfying. This is a highly recommended luncheon destination delivering farm to table deliciousness every time. Impeccable service to compliment each bite.
This is a must-try restaurant. The chef makes some quite original dishes. Everything is fresh, the sandwiches are made in-house and the service is excellent, even though it may be a tad shower than others. But your patience is rewarded with food that's prepared fresh and is simply delicious. If you're anywhere near Perth, you should definitely visit this wonderful restaurant.
Great little place. Reasonably priced and helpful service. Best to have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. The menu was small but inspired. Yay for the cloth napkins.Food: 5/5
Our favourite place in Perth to eat. James and Kerri are wonderful hosts and the food is always special. They have great staff who offer friendly service and make your dining experience pleasant. Dinner is always a monthly treat for us and we occasionally squeeze in a lunch when we are in town. When the weather is nice the picnic lunch offering is really nice. They pack you lunch in a lovely basket and then you can head over and enjoy the beauty of Stewart Park. Fabulous.
