Inconsistent & bizarre policies, rude staff. Before you even go there, Gale's, don't ask me to email Raj or whoever. I'm seeing the same reviews as this over the past months with the same copy & paste response, so clearly nothing is changing which gives me no interest in emailing you with feedback. This is your feedback. I've shopped here for years and was never denied entrance. I've spent hundreds, if not thousands here over the years. I've only ever had to offer my business name to be permitted in. Now I'm not allowed in without a card verifying I'm on a specific list of people allowed to shop for the business. The interaction I had with the lady checking me in felt very curt. It's a shame this business isn't just open to the public. Most of the materials here are going to be interesting to people for personal crafts & projects and I'm willing to bet most people entering on behalf of a business are shopping for personal reasons. It doesn't make sense to limit your customer base like that. Only got a star above the minimum because the merchandise is actually amazing. Shame about the attitude of some staff & weird policies.

This was the absolute WORST shopping experience I have ever had in my entire life. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The staff doesn't seem to understand the concept of customer service whatsoever. Gales Wholesale, please don't reply to this review saying 'we're so sorry you had a bad experience.' There's dozens of negative reviews with people saying the exact same thing as me, and you apologize, and nothing ever changes. I have multiple friends who feel the same way. You're losing a lot of business because you just can't be bothered to be decent.

The two ladies at the front desk are INCREDIBLY rude and should not be working there. They couldn't find the info in there system from my card which is ridiculous because I've been going for years, so without even trying to figure it out they cut my card up in the blink of an eye. I was stunned. They could have SO much more business if they just showed some human decency. I'm very disappointed how I was treated. The original owner was so nice and he is very much missed. Especially after being replaced with the two ladies who run it now. Go elsewhere if you can.

This store has thee most rudest staff you will ever come across. I have no idea how it stays open. I have shopped there for over 8 years and it is always a horrible experience. There is one woman named Thom who is absolutely lovely and helpful, but the women at the front till treat you incredibly rude, every time. Today they treated my husband so disrespectfully that I will never return. Find a different wholesale supplier if you can.

Great, intriguing selection, yes... Disrespectful, degrading treatment of long-time clients, also yes. Get your act together Gales! Not allowing the child of a long-term client to use the bathroom, is not even humane. Cutting up someone's Gales card because the name had rubbed off, is ridiculous. It almost seems like you don't want to sell all your ancient dusty inventory. In a city with *any* competition Gale's would have closed years ago.

I have something to say. I bought some clear bags at Gales Wholesale on Dewdney Ave. It was a little too small and all I asked was if I cud exchange for the next size and pay the difference. The answer was Nope no negotiation. WOW. They just lost 5 customers from the house where I'm at. So let's just shop on line...and not support local. I try to support lots of local business and this is how not how keep customers.

They got every type of bead and christmas art decor out the arse but when it comes to actual art supplies they lack big time. Never carry any sort of candle making supplies or other art supplies used for therapeutic crafts. Oh wait they sell paraffin wax that smells horrible.

the place is huge with lots of stuff from wedding materials to christmas decos! and prices seem reasonable. I would definitely be back to buy some more. The staff are nice and knowledgeable plus the fact that it’s a family owned business is impressive.

Today I needed to pop into Gales. I was hoping today would be the day that the staff would be friendly, helpful and would atleast fake respect. Sadly, this was not the case. As always it was a vividly annoying experience full of eye rolls and one word answers. Shame on them for being so horrible to customers and shame on management for not making changes.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews, I have always had a pleasant experience at Gale’s - the owners and employees always work hard to make sure I get what I am looking for and are always happy to help! It’s a membership based business, so if you don’t have one, understand that or simply sign up!
