Galaxyland

Story

Galaxyland, previously known as Fantasyland, is one of the biggest indoor amusement parks in the world and is situated in the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is home to the world's tallest (14 stories), and longest indoor roller coaster, the Mindbender. It is also home to the Space Shot, the world's tallest indoor tower ride at 36.5m.HistoryGalaxyland was originally known as Fantasyland, from 1983 to 1995. However, the name Fantasyland was already used for one of the theme lands existing in Disneyland and other theme parks, like the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Park in Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland Park, owned by the Walt Disney Company. A lawsuit eventually forced the mall's owners to change the park's name, though they were allowed to continue using the name "Fantasyland Hotel" for a hotel in the mall. Fantasyland became Galaxyland officially on July 1, 1995. This was celebrated with a new "space age" theme, and the arrival of the park's new mascot "Cosmo".

My son grew up going here, since he was 5 and and he's 14.. I wish they would upgrade the arcade games and more better rides. There's probably 3 big ones the teens would line up for. Then that's it. I think it can use more attractions for how big the place is.
For children under 5. They have a full day pass during the week days that covers you and the child for 36.75 as a toddler chaperone so you can ride with them on anything they can't go on by themselves. I was prepared to pay the 100$, so this was a pleasant surprise considering my daughter can't go on the big rides being short. Staff were friendly to me but very strict about the height requirements for the rides. I'm talking within 1mm. The manager slid a credit card between my daughters head and the height measure device Apparently 1mm too short. We had a great time.
Amazing!nnI loved that lines were not long at all.nWe got there 1230pm on a weekday.nIt was busy but not busy where u have to wait. I would recommend buying tickets b4 hand ,but there was no lines to buy them.nnConcession stands $5/ hot dog or pretzel. Not bad!nLots of things to do from toddlers to adults.nnWould definitely go again.nnDidn't find any washrooms there except the mall bathrooms.nnWe all enjoyed!
If you are a fan of any Hasbro properties then this park is an absolute MUST. The littles had a great time at the park - there is easily something for everyone here. Rollercoasters, kid rides and everything in-between. Ours liked the larger rollercoaster but also the bumper cars and funnily enough the stuffy riders!
Spent 7hrs in Galaxyland with my granddaughter. She had an amazing time. She wasn't tall enough for all the rides but had a blast with the selection they had for her. There was an artist doing caricatures that was quick and they looked great. The prices were also decent. Would definitely go back when I am back in town.
