Walked in with high expectations but after tasting the wings, not sure I'd return! The place has potential but not a good sign when you've just opened the doors. The initial 5 star reviews are clearly based on friends and family. I will return to see if things have changed. PROS: Good selection of flavors, fair pricing, free parking, other foods available including vegetarian options, can cater to your level of spice, lightly battered, good customer service, prompt and courteous telephone etiquette CONS: Wings are huge antibiotic-raised/wings on steroids and didn't taste natural, overly chewy we had to spit out some bits, some were undercooked and had a cold center, the fries we ordered had a bad smell and were dark-yellow in color which means the oil in the deep fryer hasn't been changed in awhile REGARDING MANAGEMENT'S RESPONSE: It's clear that you feel offended by my feedback and for that, I apologize. However, your reply indicates that you do not take criticism well. Moreover, your customer service over the phone was great but your food was bad, which is a bad sign because good service alone does not save a restaurant, especially for a newly opened establishment not sure how that's contradictory?. The $50 dollars we spent that day was for nothing and I thought you'd like to know about our experience. In your response, you don't mention a thing about the poor oil nor the wings being undercooked. I'm glad you responded so that everyone can truly see what you wrote and make an informed decision before visiting your establishment. Good luck!
Best wings I have ever eaten!!! They make their own sauce which adds a great flavour to the wings. We had Sri Lankan devil wings along with spicy fish cutlets and chicken kothu roti!! Later we tried chilli onion fries which was delicious as well. Amazing food, excellent quantity and wonderful hospitality at the dine-in. Highly recommended!!
Chicken wings are one of my vices, so when I noticed a sign for a new chicken wing place last month, I was looking forward to checking this place out. While the wings are excellent at Gwings, I was pleasantly surprised with the extended menu offerings at this restaurant. I've visited this place twice in the past two weeks and my review will cover the items I've tried. Part 1 - Chicken Wings Chicken wings are expensive these days no matter where one goes. I found the wings here to be quite decent in size and the price on par with other wing establishments. I tried the Sri Lankan Devil flavour. One of the spiciest they had on their menu. The flavour was rich and had a very nice heat that builds up slowly on you. They were the kind of spice that makes you sweat, rather than burn your taste buds. I found the wings to be a bit too saucy for my liking, but it's possible to request for less saucy if you prefer. As the menu doesn't provide description on sauciness levels, you may want to ask or tell them your preference when ordering. I also ordered basic salt & pepper wings for my better half who doesn't eat spicy food. These were very good on their own as well. Part 2 - The "other" menu. Take away / dining options in Stouffville are quite "vanilla", so I was intrigued by the other items on Gwings menu. Having never tried Sri Lankan / Tamil food before, I was looking forward to trying their items. Mutton Kottu Roti: I relied on a search first to understand what this dish is. Which is a popular street food dish in Sri Lankan made with chopped up roti, scrambled eggs, spices and veggies/meat. The portion for this dish is huge. Enough for at least two people. This dish was quite spicy as well and can cause some sweating. Crab Curry: This is available on weekends only. I do enjoy my crustaceans. I unfairly use Vietnamese curry crab / Singapore chilli crab as my benchmark, which is like comparing apples to origins. I think the crabs that they use in this dish are blue carbs. While they may be diminutive in size, they pack a punch of flavour. The broth for the crab was quite creamy from the coconut milk, and the spice level was mild. Mutton Roll: A tasty appetizer. From the outside shaped and looks like the pizza rolls I ate as a child in my middle school cafeteria. On the inside they are filled with potato and diced mutton. Spice level was medium. Mutton Curry: A sample of the mutton curry was provided to me on my second visit. This was very tasty and spiced medium. I thought it was a bit salty for my tastes, but it was still very delicious. I will definitely order this dish on its own on my next visit. Final Word: The establishment is very clean and they take appropriate covid precautions. On both of my visits, I arrived slightly ahead of time. They brought the food out to my car once it was ready. Descriptions of spice can be subjective. For context, my tolerance is quite high and enjoy all types of spicy foods. Thai, Szechuan, Korean, West Indian, Mexican etc without difficulty. I am more sensitive to salt, and I never add any salt to a dish no matter where it is. I'm glad I have a new food option in Stouffville not only for wings, but for their non-wing items as well.
New spot serving a mix of Tamil goodies and good ole burgers, fries, and wings. Wouldn't think to come here for a burger, but after trying it I'm sold. Juicy and tender patty that's got heft to it, and the kicker, seasoned well inside! Served in a not-soaked in grease, gently sweet bun. Fresh crisp lettuce and tender tomato. All with a side of crispy crust fries that's got some craggly going for it, with soft tender insides. Awesome combo. Want a taste of Tamil food then pickup a Kothu Roti, it's like a chopped flat bread stir fry with lots of chunks of meat spiced fragrantly, not dry, surprisingly tender meat, real savory! Tried some chili chicken too, strong savory goodness with a kick. Friendly family making popping Tamil and Canadian fare. Gotta try their mutton rolls next. Think its like a deep fried mozza stick but with spiced lamb inside too, oompf. Thank you!
Our family really enjoyed the wings and mutton kottu roti. The bombay butter masala wings were delicious and really stood out compared to other more regular flavours. All the wings were cooked perfectly and a good size! The mutton kottu roti was excellent, good flavours, a bit of spice we forgot to specify when ordering and a great portion for sharing.
Amazing food and friendly staff. This spot had a mix of wings and fries to tamil food such as kothu roti and snacks such as mutton rolls. I ordered wings, mutton rolls, fish cutlets and crab cakes. All were amazing and ill definitely be back to try the kothu rotti, which is a popular item here.

Amazing experience ordering take out delivery, well packaged, tasty & fresh. I ordered the Chicken Kothu Roti, spring rolls & mutton rolls. Great mom & pop shop. Will definitely be going to try the wings, its interesting that they give baked and grilled options
Amazing mix of wings, pub fare AND Sri Lankan favourites. The owner is super friendly and will to make orders as mild or as spicy as you need. Suggest you order well in advance for Sri Lankan dishes. We've had kuthu roti and biriyanis so far and can't wait to try others! Wings are large and flavourful. Some unique flavours too!!
Loved the kottu, never had it before and it was amazing. Also the wings are SO GOOD. They are legit the biggest wings and I tried the chili mango and asked them to make it saucy and it was one of the best things ive ever had. I thought about it all week. We live super close and we are super excited that we get to have this new business within walking distance.
