Pros .... good selection, good prices, friendly staff when I was purchasing a living room package. Cons ... poor delivery experience, miscommunication, customer satisfaction not priority, poorly marked handicap entrance. I visibly limp had to use stairs 4 x no one informed me there was an easier way in. Note there was a overcharge clerical error of $40 a bit more miscommunication. That has since been resolved
Bought our last mattress and box spring here, they came in, and set it up and all, no issues whatsoever. 4 months later we move and the box spring doesn’t fit up our stairs, we called them to order 2 split queen box springshave 2 queen beds and they said they’d call back to ensure delivery today if money is received by 5 pm, when 5 pm came, Alexis checked to ensure the auto deposit went throughit did but they did not bother delivering. Slept on our mattresses on the floor last night, and they call at 9 am and say rather ignorantly, “are you coming to pick up your boxsprings today” The caller was informed delivery was paid for and they said ‘oh we will call you back in 20 mins to confirm we are on the way’ that was over 2 hours ago…We will continue to wait rather than move the rest of our furniture to avoid sleeping on the floor again, but very displeased with the unprofessionalism in this delivery.
Well for anyone looking to purchase new furniture DO NOT go to Surplus Freight on O’Leary Ave. Dad bought 2 brand new loveseats a month ago and it turns out he is allergic to the material. I called and was told that all sales are final and cannot be exchanged. He wasn’t looking for his money back, he was looking to upgrade. In my opinion, they took advantage of a senior citizen and never did they mention that all sales were final. Very poor customer service and the lady I spoke with when I did call all but hung up on me. Please feel free to share this so they don’t get the chance to take advantage of anyone else.
This past weekend we purchased a table set. Adam provided great service as usual with a friendly attitude. He is very welcoming and professional. Highly recommend Surplus Furniture. We would give them 5 out of 5 but we do find that the warehouse personal are not as professional as one would expect. If surplus could have a warehouse team as strong as their sales team they would be a 5 out of 5.
Surplus furniture was by far the best company I dealt with during this moving process. Despite us being in a current health state of emergency they went above and beyond to make sure my furniture arrived promptly given the current circumstance. They did not try to profit off my situation, instead they gave me better deals than any other furniture store in the city saving me hundreds of dollars. Their workers are so friendly and really helped this process run smoothly. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy furniture, it is better quality and lower price than any competitor in the city trust me, I checked them all.
I went to this store the day after I decided to purchase my own home. It was my first time ever buying furniture and the customer service was excellent. The employee remembered everything I had looked at weeks later when I finally decided on what i wanted. The manager here has been incredible and everyone has been willing to help out with my orders and deliveries. I would 100% recommend that anyone looking for furniture visit surplus. Their customer service and friendliness are amazing.
I would recommend for anybody looking for new furniture to shop here. Adam was wonderful to talk to, he helped us pick out a new couch over the phone, and it was delivered by supper time the same day, as he promised. We are delighted with the new couch! Thank you Adam, for your fantastic service, you truly did go above and beyond!!!

I had originally scored Surplus a 1 because of an issue that we had with a sofa we purchased. 3 years old and we had to recently toss it. Contacted them when we initially had issues and they did nothing. They were kind enough to contact me and offer an in store credit which we Did use on items that we desperately needed. It may not recoup the price we lost on the new sofa but it's something. Dan, their new manager, was absolutely fantastic! I'm in management and he handled our situation the best that he could. Because of that I give them a 4 star. Not a 5 because I'm still a pissed about the sofa. Thanks to Dan and his team!
Do not pay for the 5 year total care plan. Its a complete rip off !!!! I've been emailing to have a year old sectional spring replaced, to finally be told the time limit has expired!!!! I have done everything I was asked to have it fixed. I say the third party is a fraud.A 5 year warranty that's not warranted within 15 months??? Cons!! I'll never buy from this place again. Once they sell you the item, there's no help afterward. Money grabbers
