They recently opened on Hochelaga, a street full of pizza shops, so I was curious to see what they had to offer. I tried their margarita and their wu tang killa bees pizzas. I really love their pizza sauce. It’s honestly the best pizza sauce I’ve had in recent memory. The margarita pizza is good, but sorta stingy on cheese and sauce. The killa bee pizza was spectacular.. 10/10. Do yourself a favor and try it.
It was fine, but forgettable. I tried three different pizzas: "Say Cheese" and "Margherita" were both bland unfortunate, because margherita is usually my favorite. "Wu Tang Killa Bees" felt too sweet, with not enough to balance out the honey. I tried eating it out of the box, and tried re-heating some slices in the oven - it did not help much. Visually, I think the pizzas look great, the boxes are very cool. It just did not do it for me taste-wise.
The ingredients used were high quality and tasted great, especially the marinated mushrooms and honey. I was immediately impressed with the sweet tangy tomato sauce, it compliments the dough very well. The pizzas available had creative toppings and names to match. This would be a great place to grab a pie and hang out or study. The pizza dough and crust was excellent, crispy, and fired in a beautiful mosaic-tiled oven. My only quip was the middle of my pizza was particularly soggy, and could have used just a bit more time in the oven or slightly less sauce centered in the middle before cooking. I'm definitely going to be back though, I'd like to try the table service locations as well.
I tried the "Say Cheese!" and "Wu Tang" pizzas at Fugazzi Pizza. Overall, it was an alright experience. I ordered online through their website. It stated that the order would be ready in 10 minutes, which I thought was super quick, but when I got to the location, my order was not ready yet and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes to get my order. Also, their lunch special for $9.95 is not listed on their website ordering page. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but you might have to visit their location in person to benefit from it. I thought the "Wu Tang" was too sweet because they drizzled too much honey. Usually when honey is incorporated into pizza, they'll make it a spicy honey or add some sort of flavoring to the honey to make it more savory, but it felt like the honey used was just pure honey. Also, as you can see in the included picture, it could have used a bit more tomato sauce. It felt dry around the edges. The "Say Cheese!" was overall alright. No real complaints per say. Dough on both pizzas was also just okay. In sum, does Fugazzi Pizza make a better pizza than others in HOMA offering a similar product? Maybe not, but it's worth a try for those looking for something new in HOMA.
Fun spot for a great selection of pizzas! My favourite is the "mushpit" mushrooms, cheese and white sauce...Food: 5/5
One of the best mushroom pizza I had, use it the pick-up service to make sure I will have it fresh.
The aesthetics of the restaurant are great! The pizza is good too. It’s not the absolute best that I’ve had but definitely a top contender! Their garlic bread is great. The tiramisu is surprisingly good as well!
Excellent pizza! The killa bee pizza is really good but what surprised me the most was their cheese pizza. I usually don't enjoy just cheese pizza but this was by far the best cheese pizza I've had.
I was disappointed with the pizza as I found it rather dry. With so many other delicious options in the neighborhood I won't be returning there. They also force you to pay with cards which is annoying.
Decent pizza - Enjoy the 55 min wait in one of the great bars nearby. Maps is rumored to introduce a new label specifically for this restaurant: “as slow as it gets”.
