This beautiful family in Christ helped save my boyfriend and myself from hopelessness, self esteem problems, and wanting to give up. I am sorry that you changed your format but I hope everyone had a wonderful celebration with family and friends this Easter weekend.I felt the last format was welcoming and in compassed the roots and tradition that made Friendship a great community.I look forward to seeing this page developed into more. I can only share a little of my experience at friendship with the hopes that it will be an encouragement to others: I truly believe that God meets you wherever you are in your walk and no matter how frustrating or chaotic your life He will bring you out of the darkness and replace it with joy. From my own personal experience I have learned that I need to continue to work on my hospitality skills which are less than stellar but by nurturing a warm heart it helps you to be aware of the need that surrounds you and makes you more accountable. Emotions don't fit neatly into a shoe box to be placed high up on a shelf but I am learning to accept that some things take effort and some things take time. I love that God made me an individual and that by working together through faith I can continue to face what can often seem like insurmountable odds but be open to new opportunities. Like all of us I have made some mistakes that I regret but one can not wallow in that because it will dim what is good and right. I take comfort that Friendship is a safe haven and a community of devoted believers. I hope that Friendship will continue to be a place where people who are looking for rest and are burdened can come. Jesus in His infinite wisdom gave us the ability to trust in something greater than ourselves and share his unfathomable but attainable forgiveness. What I have learned is all you really need is someone to love you and someone to love back. Often the pieces of the puzzle get scattered and the leaves get blow around and we wish we could gather them into neat piles but life is not always just and tidy. Therein lies the challenge to be gatherers, to bring meaning and purpose to those that feel separate from the security that is Jesus. May He bless you abundantly.
