What a sweet spot this is. The latest specialty grocery to come to South Etobicoke Kipling and Norseman, there’s a ton of eye candy here. Lots of specialty items, many are house made and ready to eat. You’ll also find an array of specialty pantry items. Think gourmet and gifting. Need a last-minute hostess gift — you’ll find something here for any foodie. The pizzas look amazing as so the prepared sandwiches. With a myriad of house prepared sauces and such, you’re bound to find a new personal favourite here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
This place has a great mix of amazing products. If you love a great sandwich or an amazing slice of pizza this is your place. If you are a bread lover be careful the bread is deadly. Friday night pizza night at my house leveled up once I tried the pizza dough from here. The pre made meals are hard to choose from, they all look amazing. If you love sauces make room in your fridge for everything you're about to buy from here. I haven't had a bad taste or experience here and I stop by a few times a week. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend Freebird, get in there and find your new favorite things.
So happy to have this type of food market in our neighbourhood. All the prepared foods, soups, vegetables etc for a lazy dinner you can say you made from scratch. Fresh bread, olive oils, spices, meats and cheeses. Interior is also beautiful.
I really really wanted to love this place, and after taking my first steps inside I was excited to support a small local business and leave a great review after, but my first time experience did not live up to the expectations. Let’s start with the positives, because there were some great things that need to be noted. The service was very pleasant, the selection of specialty and high quality items is definitely unique for the area, and the shop has an inviting design to it. Now for the negatives, and unfortunately they greatly outweigh the positives. Firstly, the prices of things are, well expensive. I have no problem paying a premium for good quality food but there were a handful of items on the shelves that were priced quite a bit lower in other shops I’ve been to canned tomatoes, produce, etc. Secondly, the prepared food we got were extremely underwhelming. We ordered two different slices of pizza and a donut. The pizza slices looked beautiful, but tasted average. The issue lies with the overall premium look, feel, and experience, the food in this case the pizza needs to match that. The donut was tasty, but the dough tasted like it was dipped in oil overnight and the greasiness overshadowed the other aspect of it. Would I give Freebird a second try? Tough to say, because I really did and still really want to love it.
Ready to go meals, spices and sauces, freezer meals, salad dressings, pizza dough, fresh bread etc etc. Counter of individual portions to go and desserts! Brought individual desserts to a dinner party and they were a hit! Quaint market presents food beautifully and has very friendly staff. Welcome to the neighbourhood!
Great local shop where you can stock up on easy to prep meals or grab a slice of pizza. Served their ravioli to a group of friends and the compliments were unending!!
We have previously had food from 10tation and loved it. So when Freebird opened we were excited to try it. We selected 3 entrees and a pizza. From the moment we walked in the door our enjoyable experience began. Immediately we were welcomed by the busy staff. The owner chatted with us and when we were trying to choose, one of the chefs came out unsolicited and discussed ingredients. Loved all of the dishes and will definitely be back for more. Ric & Liz
Just discovered this place and was very impressed. Great looking food! When I saw they had Ham Croquettes I was thrilled. Until I bought some and had them for dinner. To call them “Ham”croquettes is doing a disservice to croquettes everywhere. There were maybe 3 teeny tinny pieces of ham that you could hardly see. It was pitiful. That cost them the 5th star. They did taste good though to be fair. Everything else we purchased tasted great.
A new gem in south Etobicoke! So many options for healthy and delicious pre made meals and also so many yummy pastries, pizza, sandwiches and coffee. My new fave spot!! And the staff are so friendly and helpful.
Amazing food, elevated prepared meals with an attention to quality ingredients. Love the lunch options, handmade pastas cooked to order, insane sandwiches and pastries. Great selection of hard to find/high quality pantry items. Don't sleep on the frozen pizzas, better than delivery for a fraction of the cost. Great people too. Love this place!
