Frank's Bake Shop

Their cookie/cake section is my favorite. It’s absolutely phenomenal. The frosting is super rich and creamy, it goes along with the light and fluffy cookie base perfectly and make your mouth water. They have amazing decorating skills too, you’d think they were gourmet specialty cookies. The way the frosting layers with each other is so delicate and elegant, it melts in your mouth. I also really like their crunchy and cheesy pizza along with their massive selection of pastries and donuts.

We were so excited to find a real bakery during our stay in Bangor! Frank's came highly recommended by the locals. We were looking for a good blueberry pie, and we found one! We also found *several* other treats to bring back to our hotel, like the raspberry crumble bar and hermit bars. Yum.

Heard a friend say this was a good place to eat. Oh, my word!!! Cheese cakes and coffee were the best dessert combination that my wife and I can remember having while out. Gosh, the food, the shop itself, the staff...everything was so nice! Thanks to the friend for the idea. We'll make this a routine stop!

Great white on white. They do not make tiramisu. Don’t let them fool you. italians would hate this

I love this bakery. They offer everything from fresh pastries to meals. Something for everyone. I often forget about it because I never travel that way regularly but always come back to it during holidays and special events.

I think it was the glazed bun that converted me to a Frank’s believer. I was not a hard convert other than the calorie considerations, but why go to a bakery if you are concerned about that. I also found the other donuts which were more the cake type satisfying. All the baked goods tasted fresh. Staff were great offering suggestions for what I may like and they were right.

The cookies could have been a little more sweeter but the turtle cheese cake and coconut cream cheese cake was the best I ever had they would put cheese cake factory out of business they taste so much better I live in Florida here working on contract making my way back before I leave

Frank's was voted best breakfast sandwich for a reason. Their biscuits are out of this world. My usual is with an over-easy egg, sauteed green pepper and onion, and American cheese. Also delicious with sausage. They make a deliciously smooth and flavorful quiche. Their new cheesecake cupcakes are to die for and there are so many flavors to choose from but unfortunately, I suggest steering clear of any lemon varieties; I think they might use essential oil or something because they taste soapy. I also love that they offer iced coffee, which they sweeten with simple syrup instead of granulated sugar. Oh, they make their own veggie burgers, and they're really yummy, especially with the chipotle mayo. Finally, in the interest of full disclosure, I confess that I do not like their donuts. They just don't do it for me. But plenty of people love them, so give them a try. Anyway, Frank's is a Bangor institution; their recent upgrades make their bakery a really lovely spot for breakfast or lunch, and the staff members are so personable.

I hired Frank's to make my 2-tier wedding cake for my January wedding. My husband and I were already a fan of Frank's cookies, cakes and donuts and knew they would do a great job on our wedding cake. I was able to plan everything with them remotely over the phone and by e-mail and the ordering process was very easy. They delivered the cake to my reception venue on the day of the wedding without issue and in perfect condition. Pricing was very reasonable for a wedding cake. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Baked goods are great! They do a wonderful job with cake and cookie decorating, my boys LOVE getting the seasonally decorated cookies! Frank's also carries a variety of prepared meals...a bit $$$$....but still tasty. Highly recommended.
