Story

Foster’s Garden Chapel and Crematorium has been at its present location for more than 20 years. We are conveniently located directly across the street from Queen’s Park Cemetery, Calgary’s largest cemetery. Every room of our Tudor-style building is decorated in a warm, hospitable theme. We have an in-house crematorium that enables us to better serve our families who choose cremation. We are conveniently located close to the airport, hotels, the downtown core and the Deerfoot Trail (Queen Elizabeth 2 Highway).

With a seating capacity of 250 guests, we offer one of the largest chapels in the city. We can also open an overflow area, if required. The chapel is enhanced with a 16-foot stained glass window, with a private family room to the side. The chapel’s exit leading to our climate-controlled concourse provides comfortable funeral vehicle access throughout the year. A visitation room is available off the chapel foyer which allows attendees an opportunity to pay their respects. A room with a fireplace is conveniently located to the side of our chapel to accommodate traditional burning ceremonies with the maximum safety and comfort.

Whether gathering for visitations, as a family before a service, or for a reception, our Fireside Lounge and adjoining reception room is a warm, comfortable place to meet. Central to the room is a floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace, and the room is furnished comfortably to allow for cozy conversation areas.

Our Alberta Rose and Heritage Suites are private rooms located next to our Fireside Lounge and are comfortably appointed for evening visitations. Two families may be accommodated at one time with these individual visitation rooms and divided reception area. These two rooms may also be combined for smaller funeral services where a maximum of 30 guests are expected.

Our large selection room has been designed to best display our caskets, vaults, urns and cremation containers. We offer a non-threatening selection room where families are able to make their decisions. Our trained staff is also available to answer all questions concerning our products. We understand many people may feel uncomfortable in having to visit a funeral home; therefore, we made our arrangement offices feel close to home. We offer three different arrangement offices to accommodate all sizes of families as they come to meet with our funeral directors.

For our families who choose cremation, we have an in-house crematorium. Some families and cultures also request to witness the cremation, and we are more than willing to accommodate them.
