I really enjoyed the visit because the structures and artifacts gave a real appreciation of what life was like for the occupants at the time. The staff dress in time period costume, and the tour was excellent. The cost is free during 2017 as Canada celebrates it's 150th. Be prepared to take about an hour each way to drive to and from the TransCanada to the site. Arguably one of the most important forts in Canada because the massacre of 23 indigenous men, women and children by whisky traders near the site was the impetus to form what is now the RCMP.

Exceeded my expectations. It is a bit of a drive to get to the fort. But when you get there and walk down to the fort, the views are terrific. Beautifully restored and the interpretive guides were friendly and helpful. I knew a bit of the history of the area, but being there and finding out all of the history really surprised me as to how much happened here.

Beautiful country and worth my time!..couldn't drive up to fort so nice little hike down and back up ..very informative interpretation..very disappointed I could see the massacre site as it was closed due to extreme fire ban but will return in the future .
Excellent day spent here!
