This is a large provincial park on the Alberta and Saskatchewan boarder. There are multiple campgrounds, day use areas, beaches, and boat launches. It is located in forested hills with multiple lakes. Each campground has different levels of utilities from no services to full services with power, water, and sewer hookups. We choose Firerock Campground with power only to save some money. This turned out to be a mistake. Our campsite was lakeside, but it was also an open field with no shelter from a windy, stormy night. The shore was muddy and weedy. However, it was only a short walk to the beach, dock, shower house and playground. The shower house had lots of parking, lots of sinks and showers with free hot water. The campsites were level, easy to park the motorhome in but no privacy. We could see other campers in the woods nearby and wished we had camped there out of the wind.

Haven't been there in years but I still remember that trip. Great natural wonder area. Well worth visiting here.

Sooooo much to explore!! I find new trails every time we head out there! Haven't had a chance to see the fort when open yet, but we walked around the area and it looks like a fun place!

This is a great place to go for camping, or a day trip. There are a few beaches to play & swim, there's mini golf, water sports, tons of well-marked trails for every skill level including gentle strolls all the way to advanced hikers. Just be aware of wildlife, including cougars.
