We shop in this store regularly on our frequent visits to Bayfield. There are several young staff who are generally helpful and friendly. They are learning. Of course the inventory selection is reflected in the size of the store. A surge of tourists may erase the inventory of some items and clog the cash line. Last minute shoppers may be disappointed. This experience is typical tourist retail. This store isn't at the leading edge of vegetarianism or veganism. The Huron County economy is dairy, poultry, pork, etc Vegetarians may find the frozen food selection is meat focused. e.g. cheese sticks are cheddar AND bacon. They often have Beyond and Impossible products though. Oat milk is always there. This store is a great asset for Bayfield.
Ok for small emergency trips but not a large store. Produce is ok but slightly higher than market. Pantry is decent with a good not large selection. Not tried the meat. Water runs out at times.
Nice little store. We stopped here and picked up a bunch of Canadian snacks and peanut butter before we went back to the states. They have some good maple syrup!
So many bad experiences in this store. Purchased pork that was gone bad the meat manager “that’s how pork smells” Meat is overpriced and terrible quality. Most veggies are not fresh at all. Forget about the pre made Ceasar salad kits as 50% of them are missing the dressing and croutons. When I brought this up to the woman at the counter she said sorry, nothing we can do about it as we don’t package them. They sell cigarettes but 8 out of the last 10 times I tried to purchase a pack I’m told no staff in the store are old enough to sell them. Foodland in Bayfield is a total tourist trap. Drive the 15 minutes to Goderich as not only will it save you money but also a headache.
Great for picking up a few items here and there but not for full grocery shops. Produce and meat is often not fresh and prices are a little high. Very convenient and staff are nice.
Why did they discontinue the 15 litre water refill after I have been doing this for a year now. Ask why and was told don't know/because the floor Manger said so. Guess customers don't mean a thing anymore.
Poor customer service in the bakery section. Would not serve bread off the rack when nothing was on the shelf. When I tried to bag my own bread because two of the staff ignored my request they informed me because I touched the loaf which they refused to bag and sell to me they would rather throw it in the garbage. Very rude employees so I escalated the matter to Brad the who is the store manager. He was no help and recommended that I request that the employees bag the bread before helping myself. So clearly he had no idea what transpired and he also refused to sell a loaf of bread or bag it for a customer. With no explanation other than there is a process and they are currently bagging other loaves. How is this possible?
Great store , awesome staff
This was my first time and am not around often but the staff was very friendly and informative. They also bag your groceries for you which isn't common anymore. Definitely my place to go when I'm on vacation again
Clean, well staffed, decent stock. Good sized parking lot and attached to the LCBO.
