There is a girl at this location that works in the self checkout area. They should send her away to get a personality! Should not be working with the public. Totally ignores the customers. You can tell she loves her job.
A Very Special Shout Out to Staff Katie at the front who took the time to help me figure something out at the store. The store was quite busy. She handled several customers needing her help in such a professional and helpful manner with such ease. Thank you Katie for going above and beyond.
I am disappointed with Food Basics. My boycott of all US products is not negotiable. Beware that some Selection products are indeed US sourced. Some are purposely not marked on the label, only the name of the Canadian importer or distributor is written. I tested a staff member on one item after discovering what I consider a deceitful practice. It was marked product of USA. I asked if all Selection products were other than US and they said yes they were. Even the staff is uneducated on the isuue. I stopped shopping at Wamart one year ago to support Canadian businesses but I guess that I will have to keep searching for a more reliable grocery store. We need honest, patriotic Canadians to open stores for those of us who care about our country and have properly trained staff to advise customers.
Dec. 27,2025 Bakery Dept. for 3rd time in the last 10 days I went in at my regular tim of 8:00 a.m. to purchase a baguette. There were none on the shelves so I for the third time asked the new young women cleaning the shelves for a baguette. Unlike her predesessor who was amazing she refused to get me one in the back and told me to come back in about 45 minutes. i explained I always shop at 8:00a.m. THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME IN 10 DAYS I came in for a baguette and could not return later. She turned her back on me and ignored me. This is unacceptable behaivour. TEACH YOUR WORKERS RESPECT.
I love the large selection of everything, especially the European foods. Great story to be in service is good for a disabled person.
