The steak and lobster is a favorite. It's steak cooked how you like it, sliced and served on a piece of garlic toast and topped with lobster meat and Bernaise sauce. I enjoy it with mashed potatoes for the option, and it comes with seasonal veggies as well. I devoured this meal that I enjoyed with a pint of Mountain Ape IPA from our local brewery, Rival Trade. My meal was excellent and so was the service. My mom, who is a fussy eater, and a self-proclaimed fish snob and gravy snob, ordered fish and chips with gravy. She said the gravy was good, the crispy coated fries were great, but she didn't care for the fish. It was somewhat dense, and definitely not battered in house. Next time we enjoy a meal here, she will likely go back to her regular choice, baked lasagna with garlic toast, which she always ends up bringing half home for another meal. I never seem to have leftovers here. I gobble it all up, unless I filled up on local beers before a big burger meal

Update: The owner of 48 reached out to me to talk about this even left a phone number. I've tried calling 3xs and each time told the manager wasn't available or wasn't in. Until I talk to the manager, my review remains as well as directing people to his competition.nnWe got take out tonight.nWhat a joke! What Happened?nFries are soggy, cheese is disgusting.nThey use to make great poutines but this is awful looking!nSo disappointed nAnd less than a handful of fries in my friends supper.nI hope the manager sees this, and reaches out. Otherwise we will switch to Mr Mike's and my review remains.

Excellent New York steak! If you're visiting town, Rocky has some great independent steak restaurants, I'm not fond of the chain steakhouses that are in town, they can be real hit or miss.nnI stick with Fo4ty 8ight steaks and Cucina Restaurant steaks, restaurants for different dining experiences & budgets. One is casual, one is upscale for certain I'll get a wonderful steak at either one - and support local business owners!nnDuring my most recent visit to Fo4ty 8ight On a Friday evening. Our waitress was attentive and checked on our table regularly - excellent. I enjoyed one of the best New York Steaks! Perfectly cooked to medium rare - with perfect grill marks - excellent. Served with Grilled real fresh veggies, not frozen were flavourful and carrots were still nice with a pleasant el dente to them - not over cooked. Starter soup Crab Dill was absolutely delicious and well made - perfect for the -20°C outside weather that particular day.nnI'm a local and recommend this restaurant.nFood quality, portion size, price & service.

The food was simply amazing! The steak was so tender and juicy, perfectly done. The poutine was so delicious, I had to order another portion to go. If we are passing through, I will definitely stop next time.

Went there a couple of weekends back and felt I needed to review my experience. Let's just say a month ago I went to the Keg and I personally found the food here waay better and at a much better price. I got the sliced steak and lobster and it was soo good. The steak was tender, the fries and gravy were good and the seasoned veggies were addicting. And no Keg pricing did not feel the same about the food I got at the keg....steak was so stringy.
