Purchased the AmStaff Leg extension/curl machine in Toronto store. The plastic caps on the sides of leg pads cracked and disintegrated and we requested replacements by calling into the store. The store pushed us online to resolve the issue to which we provided date of purchase, credit card # and name to verify- they refused to process request without an "order number". We did not keep our "order #" on file so we asked them to simply check their store records via the purchase date and transaction. They refused and claimed that we have to drive in to the store!? - they would not provide the order# over the phone or via the customer service email to service the request. The staff demonstrated pure obstructive and difficult processes for a simple fix. Do not purchase from these people. Such acts and policies are in place clearly to limit their accountability and exposure on their cheap overseas product - They have no intentions of backing up their products.
We ordered from Fitness Avenue three months ago. Overall, quality of the equipment is pretty good and they have competitive prices. I think the main issue is the lack of instruction for assembly and warranty on their product. We wanted to set up a home gym with a functional trainer. Given that our basement is on the shorter side, we needed something under 80 inches. The SFT100 trainer offered by Fitness Avenue was the only one we found online that fit our size requirements. We also purchased a bench and interlocking gym mats. The order took 2-3 weeks to ship which isn’t bad. I didn’t receive any notice about shipping but was able to check online regarding the status. FedEx ended up delivering our rather large package with one person, and I ended up having to physically help him transport it off the truck. The “manual” for our trainer was literally one piece of paper, with no description of steps or parts. We had to just figure things out and piece things together. Parts aren’t labelled and the parts listed on the paper didn’t match with what came in the package. In the end it took three of us 4-5 hours to put everything together. It may not have assembled completely correctly, but it’s intact and functioning. We use the machine 2-3 times a week. It’s a double stack trainer, but one of the stack cables has a big twist in it. It’s still useable but it’s annoying and we’re careful that it doesn’t rub. We’ve had no issues with the bench. The mats are sturdy. They slide a bit but we have thin carpet underneath so that’s probably expected. They stay locked. I will note that I didn’t order enough mats with the initial purchase, and was able to get through to them on the phone although did have to call a few times, and they also did respond promptly to my email inquiries. I know some reviews have had issues with customer service but that wasn’t the case. So in summary, competitive prices, decent equipment, but may be difficult to assemble and I’m not sure how much warranty or coverage you would get.
Would highly recommend Fitness Avenue! Good selection of equipment, great quality and reasonably priced. I selected the curbside pickup option for my order - I was able to schedule a pick-up, it was prepared within 10 minutes, and the gentleman was extremely friendly and helpful. Great customer service! Would order here again.
Website has an easy to use layout. Store has fantastic pricing. I would say maybe the best in Canada. Very fast response on emails. Staff Niko incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and, super friendly. Highly recommend this location. Also, if you live close enough for a day trip, we'll worth the drive to save on shipping for dumbells, weight plates, anything heavy.
Incredible customer service and professionalism from everyone I dealt with at Fitness Avenue. I contacted Fitness Avenue and Antonio replied to my inquiry re: exercise flooring for our condo. He got back to me promptly but unfortunately, they did NOT have stock of the product he recommended which was something out of their control and I went with one of their competitors. The challenge I had with their competitor was that they wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for a basic install AND wanted to also charge a $300 premium if we wanted it done on the weekend! I was still in touch with Antonio and asked him about this but didn't mention the name of which company I went with. Antonio was very professional with his reply and stated that this is NOT a standard approach in the industry and stated the amount was way too high. Fortunately, I got the refund from the other company with Antonio's help. Also, purchased some products online from Fitness Avenue and a bit of a minor mix-up with the order which can happen with a busy warehouse. They were very apologetic and resolved the situation to my utmost satisfaction very quickly! Kudo's to the entire Fitness Avenue Team - highly recommended!
I am a very happy repeat customer of Fitness Avenue. I bought from the both online and from their store located at 1300 Alness Street. Niko, the store manager, is very friendly and knowledgeable. I am confident that if you have any questions about the equipment they sell or need suggestions, Niko will be able to help. His staff are also very friendly and helpful.
Bought product in-store whereby Nico assembled it there saying I have 30 days to return it. After 2 days I decided it was not the right product and I would need to go with another option. The product is still brand new however when I called I was told since it’s not in package it would be a 30% restocking fee! This was never told to me and they were the ones to assemble it for me and tell me I have 30 days. This is completely misleading and clearly just to make sales and not help people out. Will not buy the rest of my equipment here.
The quality of Fitness Avenue products is very bad - the rack I bought had a j-cup break due to poor assembly and they tried to tell me that the reason this happened was because the rubber end cap on the base of the rack was missing. They also tried to tell me that because the bar had contacted the vertical part of the j cup that it wasn't used correctly. I'd be surprised if the person responding to me through their customer service has ever lifted a weight. Recently I've decided to order some plates, and found the team coordinating pick up orders to be quite disrespectful. The person I spoke with was impatient when I was trying to coordinate a pickup M-F only during two windows, difficult for most people to make, and eventually she just hung up on me without confirming whether my appointment was set or not. If you're looking for cheap gym equipment it's pretty hard to beat the prices, but you're going to get product quality and service commensurate with what you pay for.
Great product, and came as expected. Looks to be great quality. There was a cost to shipping and found assembly instructions weren't clear, hence removed 1 star. If the screws and nuts were separated, it would have made the assembly more straight forward.
I've made two large orders with Fitness Avenue for local delivery and both times have been excellent. The products are great and the customer service is prompt and helpful. Phone lines seem to get tied up, but customer service through emails works fine. The deliverer was very friendly and even remembered where to go for drop off during our second delivery. Will be ordering more home gym equipment through Fitness Avenue for sure!
