Saw the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra perform at the First Ontario Concert Hall. Mesmerizing experience! The HPO musicians are so incredibly talented. You will never forget an experience like this!
I purchased tickets to a Salute to Vienna a Christmas present for my wife, the show was beautiful we both enjoyed it. I parked underground in your parking lot, for $30. I was happy to pay it to not have to brave the elements. When we went to enter your facility it was blocked off for construction, arrows indicated that we had to exit and walk along main street to enter your facility for the show. It was pouring rain, we had freezing rain the previous couple of days. You should be a shamed of yourselves. I believe this owned by the city of Hamilton. The stairs up and down were like a skating rink no one had attempted clearing the ice, to make the experience for 500 people attending the show enjoyable. There were puddles with 6 inches of water we had to walk through as we weaved along Main Street to avoid heavy traffic. You couldn’t put up an overhead cover to make sure people in suits and dresses didn’t brave the elements of snow and rain after all it is December in Hamilton. We used to attend Hamilton Philharmoniques shows and I was so disappointed with this experience yesterday, I will never attend a show at your location again. We had a couple come in to visit us recently and I made sure the walk was cleared, you have multiple people that come to your facility and you can’t clear a path of snow and ice, shame on you.nMarc Seguin
Amazing venue! Beautiful acoustics. If you have a fear of heights choose the lower balconies.
Jurassic Park Live, simply awesome! Do yourself a favor and attend some of the performances here, it makes for an excellent night out, or a heck of a date night if you're looking to impress someone.nnMy one request for the next live movie performance would be fresh popcorn :
I was fortunate enough to enjoy a fine performance at the FirstOntario Concert Hall by the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. The hall was spacious with good sight lines and decent acoustics. For sure it had a retro feel to it but the layout with the long gently sloping ramps to access the balcony and mezzanine was both safe and efficient moving a lot of people in a short period of time. Overall an amazing evening. However the parking is a disaster. It took 45 minutes to get out of the parking garage. They simply need a better system. Not really sure where was the disconnect with the people trying to get out or maybe there were too many events happening at the same time. However even this small blemish did not ruin the magical evening of music from the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra at FirstOntario Concert Hall.
