First alliance will always hold a spot in my heart for being the church I was raised going to. However I doubt I’ll ever go back.nnThe worship music has become unbearable loud and I found myself no longer able to physically attend without having to fight of panic attacks from the noise.nnWhile the people are nice it feels almost superficial if your kids don’t go to the Christian school or you don’t work physically at first alliance. As someone who was part of their youth program Launch as a child I often found myself ignored or pushed aside for the children who had parents working at the church never in a cruel or purposeful way but in a way you could tell I had been forgotten because the organizers didn’t personally know me or my family.nnIt’s not that First alliance is bad but that I feel it’s lost its way.nAs a young child I remember it being my favourite place somewhere where without fail I felt safe but now it’s become so large and the focus so scattered it feels difficult to find connection not only with god but with the community.nnat the end of the day big facility’s and large attendance numbers means nothing if there is no community.
Big church with many classes available, more recently a class was added that I think is very relevant to today’s society, “Spiritually & Mental Health”. They also offer Celebrate Recovery, Pre-marriage classes, Divorce Care & so many other ways to connect. Clean, friendly, welcoming & inviting church with a convenient South, just off Deerfoot, south of Anderson Dr, location. Lots of parking & entrances, a welcoming cafeteria, great children & youth programs & so much more.
Wow! It's like a country club. They have everything. Play area for the kids, cafe, coffee, bookstore, library, etc. I didn't feel particularly spiritually fed. Im assuming with all the workers here they don't believe in a true Sabbath rest and giving your workers a day of rest. I didn't feel comfortable with young people leading the praise and worship. Biblical principles show that the older should lead the younger not the younger leading the older. I didn't care for the praise and worship music. The facility was comfortable and the people were friendly. There was no real message on seeking a deep personal relationship with God, studying God's word and seeking for yourself.
Such a beautiful church. Very busy church services Saturday and Sunday. Always having special events for their congregation.
Great church with very large and beautiful auditorium. A great place to worship!
