Filmore's J W Family Restaurant

Stopped here for dinner on a brisk early May evening because of the reviews. This was touted as a ‘locals’ hot spot and the crowd sure seemed the part. The host was a kid and not very affable but we didn’t mind. Our waitress was a pro and got us our food in good time. Food was good — this place is not pretentious and offers reliable diner grub. Everyone was content with their meals: kids Mac n Cheese, a quarter pounder burger with bacon, a French Dip and Spaghetti with meat sauce. The ‘Red Chili’ was very good - spicy! This is an affordable safe bet.

Very good food! One of the few places left that you can get a great breakfast, great service at a decent price. Their skillet is one of the better ones around! This is a favorite for breakfast and I have enjoyed coming here since I was a child!

Great Service! They always make space for our extra large group. Wait staff is nice. Food is good, but kinda pricey IMO. Very very cold inside in the summer. Needed a coat & a blanket.

We had a great breakfast that was not greasy, cooked to order, and tasted so good! The server made our experience even better! Definitely a place to go if your in Petoskey.

The sign says where the locals eat, boy I feel bad for the locals! Instant mashed potatoes, frozen over cooked burger for the kiddo, the only thing decent was the wing dings and that's because they are bought pre done. Even the wings were over cooked so there was just a little meat on them. I definitely wouldn't come back I always support local but in this case I'd rather go to Applebee's up the road. Also the prices are horrible for the quality they serve.

Mid scale casual dining, and menu options are what you might expect. The Patron demographic is decidedly older. The restaurant could use a host or hostess as there is no one to greet and seat guests, Same is true for the cashier. Patrons must stand at a check out register and hope a shift leader will come over to allow them to pay their bill. Business is especially strong for breakfast especially on the weekends. Prices feel too high for the value delivered.

Should have realized when there are no cars in the lot. Host was great, nice, smiled.very nice young man. Empty except 4 tables. Waitress took forever, then very rude. Liver was paper thin. Fish pretty good. Seafood chowder "bottom of the barrel" It's too bad that one of the best family restaurants in Petoskey has gone so downhill. We won't be back. What a shame

We where at South woods restaurant for 15 and no one would wait on us so we left and came to your restaurant. Was greated with a smile and hello as soon as we walked in, waitress came up right away was very friendly and ask us right away before we sat down what we wanted to drink. Brittney Came back right away with it and took our order. Even though your restaurant was busy we got our food right away. Brittney was a very "good" waitress,made small talk also. We had a very good experience,we will be telling others about your restaurant. I was observing other waitress and they were very friendly and doing a good job. You should be very proud of your restaurant. The food was great also good portions. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas,Mary Hospital.

Friendly and fast service, food is cooked to order very quickly! Group of 6 of us visited for an early dinner and were served very quickly! Great food at a great price. Nothing too fancy, but lots of great comfort food options.Recommended dishesOnion Rings
