Amazing Bed & Breakfast! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway in a scenic part of upstate New York, this is the place for you. Normally when I travel, I'm very hesitant to stray from well-known chain hotels. I must say, this place has exceeded every expectation I previously had for a bed & breakfast. The house was IMMACULATE. Very authentic rustic ambiance and not a single cobweb. Every room is nicely decorated with floral wallpaper and wooden accents. The pictures I previously saw on Google don't do this place justice. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet and are very helpful with planning things to do in the area. The house is within a 30min drive from Lake Keuka and at least 10 good wineries. If you're taking part in the wine trail, the first winery is less than 10min away. Perfect! My only regret is not finding this place sooner! This is truly a hidden gem among the Finger Lakes. Super impressed!

This is a quaint Bed and Breakfast tucked away in the Finger Lakes near Lake Keuka. I had been looking for a weekend getaway and the owner Maureen was amazing through the entire process. It can be difficult for me to get a day off but she gave me a few date ranges that she had openings. I had originally wanted to go for Labor Day weekend but Maureen recommended I come up for the weekend of September 17th and 18th to attend a weekend event - Keuka Wine Trail’s “Harvest Celebration of Food & Wine”. I’m glad I did! I took a 4 day weekend and spent a good portion of the weekend doing the Keuka Wine Trail and tasting a lot of the wine in the area. I enjoyed the experience enough that when we finished the wine trail, my girlfriend and I even ventured to a few other wineries and vineyards. So I was very thankful for the idea. The owners, Maureen and John, were very hospitable and friendly. They knew the area very well and offered advice on activities in the area. Given that this is upstate New York, the area is pretty spread out. I enjoyed the vastness and nothing was terribly far away (20-40 mins depending), but on first glance it can seem rather daunting. I was definitely glad for their input. If you are looking for a good place to get lunch/dinner or ideas for things to do, I would recommend asking them. The rooms are SPOTLESS. It keeps the look of a 19th century house, without any of the dust or dirt you may associate with it. It really feels like you’re at home (though FTT is probably a bit cleaner than my home). Often when I go to chain hotels I worry about if the sheets are clean, or if I can walk on the floors barefoot. I did not have any of that apprehension here. The Bed and Breakfast has a lot of character and definitely displays it well. It’s a good mix of old world meets new world. The furniture all fits the time period the house is going for, while still having modern comforts – water cooler in the common area, coffee/tea station, and air conditioning in the room. I was also informed of a recreation room in the barn, with a television and games, for Bed and Breakfast guests, but I was too busy to check it out. The breakfast was delicious every day. Fresh fruit, and a different entree each day. Delicious REAL maple syrup that Maureen told me was tapped and bottled on the grounds. I was even able to buy a couple of bottles of it. The grounds are also very well kept. I saw their horses, chickens, and Alpacas while doing a quick walk around. There are several wineries in the area, some water activities (kayaking, canoeing, etc), and a lot of nature. There are a few good restaurants on the lake, but if you’re looking for some cheaper foods, most of the surrounding towns have chains (usually about a 20-40 minute drive depending). It is a nice quiet place to get away from your work and stresses. For those who can't get away from work, I had Verizon LTE Coverage in the Bed and Breakfast and around most of town. They also have WiFi available. I stayed in the J. G. Sturdevant Room (which is one of the two that has a Semi-Private Bath) and it was a great stay. Highly recommend.
