My husband and I always orderfrom them. I am not too sure why there has been some bad reviews about them. everything we have ordered were tasty and good portion size. Especially their delicious General Tao juicy and meaty ok some people said they’re ok which i dont think that’s the case, maybe there is some better out there, since everyone’s taste is different but dont forget general tao doesnt exist in China, yes it is an all american chinese food. What do you want more? We all love chinese food anyways! I have ordered their shrimp dumpling soup, their special fried rice, and other things . No my husband and I are not friends with the owner so no bad thoughts! we just wanted to give them credit for their delicious food. If you had a bad experience, you probably had no luck. Unfortunately, we moved away a little further up but we still order from them. If you live in the NDG/Cote Saint Luc area then go to Fay Wong. They are a bit on the pricey side but worth the try :
Just moved in the area, took a guess with the closet "Asian restaurant near me". The service on the phone for pick up was great and bilingual. Order was ready within the given time and was still hot once at my house…. Was expecting some "thicker noodle" like Lo mei or Yi mein with the General Tao as I am used to. I guess I should have asked . Overall good will try again.
Have been a customer for close to 20 years. Didn't like some of the recent changes in the menu and ordering protocols, seems like maybe the kids took over from the previous generation. Tonight we ordered online at 7:47 on a Thursday night, at a little after 830 I checked the auto generated email to see when we could expect the food only to find that it was scheduled to be delivered between 330 and 4 on Friday afternoon! When I called they said if you order after 8 pm the system automatically shifts your order to the next day. Absolutely ridiculous, will find somewhere else to order from in future. It's a shame because the food has always been great and back in the day the service was also friendly and good. This is not progress.
I've been ordering from Fay Wong for over 10 years happily, but today was the last time I'll ever go there. I went in to order and was told by the guy at the cash that only cripy noodles were possible. I explained that I've ordered soft noodles for 10+ years, and he went to ask in the kitchen. They said no. I asked if I could kindly speak to the manager. He hardly looked me in the eye, brushed me off, and could care less. I explained it was for my daughter who lost teeth and has always loved their soft noodles, as we've ordered dozens of times before. He said it was impossible. I explained that we drove from off the island to get these noodles. He said sorry and could care less. I left the restaurant. My husband went in to ask if the soft noodles were possible. They then lied to him that I was there for 3 seconds and on my phone. Why would they feel the need to I lie? I waited outside for over 5 mins for them to open, then happily waited to order at the cash. I was inside for an additional 5 minutes. Why lie? When has customer service ever been so bad? I hope the owners read this and know whoever they've hired is ruining their customer loyalty. I'm super disappointed. The last few orders we've had were messing items, but we always gave them a chance. Not now. I will never go back, and I will never recommend them ever again.
Super friendly and engaging staff. Classy look and comforting music to dine with. All food was cooked well and cohesive dishes. Flavors were fine could be elevated at least for one dish ordered. Dietary restrictions: Would like to see vegan options added to the menu.
If you are looking for really good Chinese food in Cote St-Luc, NDG, Montreal-West, Hampstead, etc, this place is the one to check out. I just wish they would bring back the classic dinner number one from the original menu. My recommendations are the Won Ton Soup Pork or Shrimp, the Lemon Chicken, the Shrimps with Garlic and Ginger and the Cantonese Chow Mein. My niece really liked the Chicken Wings.
Great food, great ambiance, the restaurant is very clean. One of the best chinese resto for us, but service is kinda slow though.
Adequate food, one eggroll or soup plus a full plate. Enough to satisfy your appetite. Good valueFood: 4/5
I ordered on line for fried rice, cantonese noodles and general tao. Delivery was fast and food were still hot when it came. Food tastes really good and might visit and eat there again one of these days. We saw the place from outside and it was renovated when we drove by. I want to try the other yummy menus next time..might be today..
I was pleasantly surprised with my meal from Fay Wong last week. I hadn't eaten from there in at least 15 years. I will switch some items for some others next time I order but the egg rolls, lo mein noodles and garlic shrimps were pretty good.
