I've been going to Farmer's Pick for 20 years. It's a jewel in our neighbourhood. Check out the deli, especially the sandwiches and the Italian produce best pasta selections in the city. The poor ratings by others about young cashiers are baloney. They are always friendly and attentive with me. I suspect the comments come from Loblaw's ringers!
Love getting fresh sandwiches here for lunch and the odd grocery item. The guys behind the deli counter are always friendly and make a mean sandwich. They have very affordable deli meats and I go there for anything Italian. You can get various Italian specialties here and nowhere else. The girls at the checkout are gorgeous and are not sore to look at. The bread section was a bit disappointing as the day old bread cost as much as the regular bread. Also you have to pay for the bread there and not at the regular checkout. Was a little uncomfortable putting the bread in my bag and felt like I was stealing but I wasn't.
The food is fresh and reasonably priced. We typically buy dinner food here. I love how the meat is priced fairly and is much better quality than Walmart. The staff are nice too. We come once a week.
Love this store! I don’t live in this area, but every time I’m even close by, I will make my way there great selections, great prices, great service! I wish I lived closer to be there regularly
I live right across the street and they’re always having really good deals as well as having products a lot of mainstream grocery stores don’t carry in terms of snacks, drinks, and cheese for example. I decided to try a deli sandwich today and the worker made me a custom one because I only wanted spicy salami as the meat, it’s definitely worth the price, tasted really good.
I see some people have commented badly against the young cashiers. I disagree with those commenter. The cashiers are young but are doing their job. They are not standing around doing nothing and they are not rude.
Super long wait for the sandwiches. They had at least 5 staff and only 2 customers but still had to wait over 15 mins. The sandwich was also mediocre. I’ll be sticking to Frank’s.
Support this local gem of a grocery store! Their butcher is top notch.
The best place in Ottawa for Italian cheese and cold cuts. The Italian sausages are terrific. The panini are superb. Don't go here if you're put off by brooding young cashiers whose vibe says "I didn't ask to be born!"
The produce is top notch. It's the only place I know that has good quality savoy cabbage!
