Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que

Great food- cocktails didn't taste fresh and were overpriced and small- stick with a beer if you'd like a drink. The BBQ chicken is amazing and the cornbread muffin with each entree is to die for!!! Good service, could be better, since we were there on a night when there weren't many other customers. Was celebrating a birthday and was rudely told by a member of the wait staff, "We don't like DO anything but I can get you a little scoop of ice cream or something." Now doesn't that sound delightful? I passed. Great food- would certainly recommend them for catering an event or something like that. The actual restaurant has gone downhill unfortunately. Used to LOVE this place 10 yrs ago! Still, gave it 4-stars for the food.

I love the bbq meat here, especially the ribs! It is all seasoned very well. Service here is good and the manager usually makes it a point to stop by and check on the meal!

The first time I've ever tried Famous Dave's was at Mall of America. I had a terrific experience there. Atmosphere was great & the food was delicious! Now you're probably wondering why I'm writing a review at this particular location.. After finding out that there's a Famous Dave's here in Iowa, I was excited! I didn't have to drive 4 hours to Minnesota for it. I decided to bring two of my friends with me to share my love for Famous Dave's with them. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD. Once we walked in, we stood at the front for someone to seat us. I kid you not! We stood there for more than 10 minutes. The restaurant was not busy at all. Servers were coming in and out from the kitchen to wait two tables that were already there. There were also a staff that was literally across from us. He was at the bar cleaning glass cups. He glanced at us a couple of times & our eyes met. Nobody still didn't seat us. As a couple more minutes have passed, my friend suggested we should seat ourselves and we did. We glanced over to the entrance & saw a caucasian family come in. The guy at the bar who've ignored us in the beginning quickly went to greet the family. At that very moment we should have left, but stayed in the most unwelcoming environment. I've also heard the same experience from other people of color. If can give this place a zero then I would.

I ordered the Monday Special $5.99 BBQ Sandwich. I did get a free side of Kettle Chips. The Sandwich was great. It was Hot with a Great Flavor and the fresh shiny bun!! The Fries were hot & tasty. The server could have smiled a little more. She did come back a few times to check on me to see if I needed anything. So that made up for the lack of a smile. She warmed up a little later so it's all good! We all can't have great days every day! You need to try the pickles. The ate sweet to eat then look out for the heat!! I loved them!!
