Finally got to enjoy this spot. I was waiting till they were dine-in again. Clean restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The food comes out beautiful and fresh. Everything we ate had good flavor. I can't wait to come back and try the curry. Parking: Lots of Parking close to restaurant
After reading the rave reviews I chose Family Thai to treat my husband to a birthday dinner. Let me start by saying the owners and staff here are really lovely, making this review a hard one to write. I ordered the roast duck curry, penang curry, pad see ew, crab wan tons, and Super basil. We couldn't have been more disappointed. The only thing we found acceptable was the crab won tons. All the other dishes were so heavily sweetened that it was like eating syrup. The Pad See Ew noodles were overcooked leftovers I suspect to the point that they were just a heap of mush, and it too was heavily sweetened. We had enough food for three days, but could barely get through small helpings in the first dinner. The rest of the $85 meal sadly went in the garbage disposal. We are both big fans of Thai food, have eaten at many Thai restaurants and have cooked Thai food ourselves. I've never seen a recipe that called for more than a tiny pinch of sugar, if that. This food was sickeningly sweet. We ordered 1-star heat, so I don't know if they thought they could tone down the heat with sugar. Otherwise I can't imagine a reason to cook everything with so much sugar. Photo of the Pad See Ew below.
We have found our new favorite Thai restaurant. The service was lovely - friendly, attentive, informative, and sweet. They have such a great team there; every employee was working with us and it seemed seamless. The atmosphere was clean, inviting, and non-crowded. And the food was amazing - perfect levels of spiciness for us, delicious flavors, everything perfectly cooked. We got the sampler plate for an appetizer: lots of different things to try on that plate and everything was amazing. For entrees, we ordered mango curry and pad see ew - total winners. And the Thai tea and Thai coffee were well-balanced and flavorful, exactly how we know and love them. Prices were reasonable. Food was fresh, hot, and beautiful textures. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend all visit!
Absolutely delicious. We ordered a couple of different dishes and all of them came in shareable portions. The staff and owners are so sweet. I really enjoyed our dinning experience here.
I'll start with the good. The staff was very friendly, and the food came out quickly. Now the bad. The food was just not great. The panang curry was mostly broth, with a few vegetables and shrimp. Very scant on ingredients. The crab fried rice was the same. Mostly rice with a few tiny and I do mean tiny pieces of crab. In all, it seemed like they were trying to save money, which was surprising considering the meals were around $18. Overall, disappointed.
This Thai restaurant has the best food and the best people running it : Portions are hearty and fair, the curry is absolutely delicious and creamy not thin and watery they give plenty of sauce to a good ratio of the veggies and meat. They have also just reopened the restaurant for dine-in. The team is friendly, accommodating, and takes a genuine interest in getting to know you and remembering you. You'll feel right at home.
Absolutely wonderful food. Very much a clean eat. The staff are very friendly and engaging. It was our first time here and drove up from port orchard. We Absolutely will be returning.
How many times have I driven by this little shopping area and never knew that Family Thai even existed? Thousands of times! After hearing from a few acquaintances on how good their food is; I was extremely excited to try it, after all, I had great luck with another local Thai restaurant I have recently dined at, so count me in. The Family Thai restaurant is a casual, bright, happy, charming little restaurant with servers that are just as delightful as the restaurant is cute. I showed up about 11:10 am and by the time I left at 11:45 am Family Thai was half full, mind you, it isn't a large establishment, none the less, a lot of customers coming in is an incentive for newcomers to try something out. It doesn't mean a restaurant is excellent, but visually it does help bring people coming in. And in this case, I overheard that some of the patrons are returning customers. Ok, now on to the food. Great menu and decent prices. I love the fact that they offer a lunch menu with several yummy sounding items to choose from. My server Thiti took my drink order and gave me a few minutes to look over the menu; after pondering, I decided to order Phad Thia with pork, it was a tough decision it came with a scoop of white jasmine rice and a cup of soup. I won't say much about the soup because I failed to understand the name of it, but it was brothy with small pieces of chopped vegetables and overall delicious. My Pad Thai was savory, flavorful and a generous helping at that. Again I love the fact that peanuts were a background taste and not the main event. My server Thiti was cheery, friendly, inviting and overall delightful. The restaurant is clean and visually refreshing — the ladies room, also clean with no obnoxious odors. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses, if ever in need of more parking space, right across the street; within walking distance is a much larger parking area that is adjacent to VCA Animal Hospital, Tessios, and Tractor Supply Company. Overall if you haven't tried Family Thai Restaurant, definitely put it on your list of places to try. ***Adding to my review- 4/19/2019 Today I decided this evening to do two take out lunches, Ginger Chicken that came with Phad Thai and Jasmine Rice soup is in house only and Beef Keemoa Noodles with Jasmine Rice -both dishes, full of exuberant flavor, with a spice number of three, just a tiny little bite nothing to make your eyes water. Both dishes where full of vegetables and plenty of meat for the taking and left overs to share with mom! And if I haven't mentioned before, the servers are accommodating, out going and very hospitable =
Seriously the best red curry in town! I’ve been to every place in Silverdale that offers curry and there isn’t any competition. Forever my favorite comfort food.
Very good food with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the roast duck curry. The best part of the dish was the broth. I don't know what all spices they used but they were delicious and blended well with the duck and pineapple especially. Worth a visit.
