This is a fabulous four seasons resort. There are numerous activities: a spa, biking and walking trails, indoor and outdoor pools, a curling rink, tennis courts and more. Built at the onset of the Great Depression, the main building is an architectural marvel, featuring a huge central fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and post and beam, log construction. The staff throughout the resort were welcoming, gracious and friendly, the restaurants were wonderful and the food was excellent. The village of Montebello, with numerous interesting shops and boutiques, is within easy walking distance. We visited here for three days and we enjoyed every fabulous minute here.

Most wonderful stay. Rustic. Friendly. Beautiful atmosphere. Clean. If i had to try and give a comment for them to improve. I would suggest to give more food for your money. The food was very good but very over priced so for the same price i would include with the main dish a small salad and the coffee. Now if people want other starters that is on them but honestly the food and service is excellent. The whole experience at the chateau is wonderful!! I could stay here weeks on end. In the summer it must be so beautiful. Honestly the staff makes this the most memorable experience i have ever had in any hotel or resort.

Love the BBQ in summer. Worth the drive from Ottawa. Rooms are nice, but a little small. Beautifully manicured property with nice views. If you are going to be there just for a meal, take some time to explore the property. They use a robotic lawnmower that keeps the main lawn looking perfect. I bought one as a result and absolutely love it. One of the nicer pools for in Fairmont hotels. Great place for either a single meal or a long weekend away.

Chateau Montebello is the Jewel of the Fairmont crown. Originally built as a private hunting and fishing club in 1930 it's apparently still the world's largest log structure. The highlight is the massive open lobby which is simply stunning with a giant soaring six-sided wood burning stone fireplace in the center surrounded by intimate seating arrangements. In as much as I have included a photo, unfortunately pictures simply do not do it justice - you really need to experience it first hand to truly appreciate it's beauty and the associated warm and welcoming atmosphere it radiates. We have been coming annually for the last 20 years or so for their Grand Sunday Brunch which is absolutely amazing. At $50/person it's not cheap (which is why we typically only come once a year) but the quality and variety is top notch and, if you enjoy gourmet food and appreciate this type of old world ambiance, in my opinion it's well worth it.

A rustic look with a grandiose and beautiful fireplace at the centre of the hotel. It sets a relaxing mood, friendly mood that encourages people to sit down, relax, have a glass to drink and they even offer platters of cold cuts by the fireplace. It’s the first hotel where I find the lobby is really put to good use. The staff is very nice and bilingual. We stayed in a suite overlooking the water and the view of the sunrise made our morning. The room is a good size. The only thing I wish was a little better is the size of the washroom. Diner and breakfast was as excellent as everything else. The desert bar is bliss. Well presented and is a feast in your mouth. The establishment also shines with its many activities. From ice skating, to cross country skiing, to curling, squash, pool jacuzzi, tubing, dog sleigh, to a simple walk in the woods. And I’m leaving many other activities unmentioned. It’s the perfect “chalet”. Highly recommend.
