It was a lovely experience. The spa services and pool/hot tub were very nice. The restaurant food is delicious. The rooms are a bit aged but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and include fire pits, walking trails, cycling paths, summer water sports equipment and winter equipment so there is always something to do. The staff arranged a special birthday surprise champagne and charcuterie board for my spouse. It was costly but lovely. The rooms were ready early and the staff are very professional and friendly. It was a nice little weekend escape.
I have been to this chalet numerous times and upon being there once again, I am disappointed to say that it is loosing its beautiful charm. Location is a nice getaway, grounds remain beautiful. Interior renovations a disappointment.They have added grey and blue tones with some underlying pink tones to what should be a rustic feel. It doesn't work and such rents should be reconsidered. Restaurant hostess unfriendly. Menu very expensive. Bistro menu revised but then again overpriced for what you are getting. Sunday brunch was a real go to in the past; no longer available every weekend and costs over 70 dollars a person. Way too pricey. The beautiful white linen tablecloths giving it some added class have now been removed.nWhat started off as a perfect chalet getaway is no more. What was working is no more. They should get back to the charm of what Chateau Montebello stood for. I hope it's not too late.
I must say it was my first time being here and it was truly amazing. I got to experience first hand the ambiance of the hotel and breathtaking views. Most of all I was able to enjoy the spa which contributed to my well being both mind and spirit. Many thanks to Christine the massage therapist which I highly recommend. She was amazing… she achieved beyond my expectations of what a well balanced massage would do!!!!nDefinitely I will come back again
Very nice old world resort. The focal point of the hotel is the incredible fireplace my husband’s grandfather was the stone mason who built it in the 30’s and the exposed log beams that are very clean and beautiful to see. Very rustic and calming. Grounds are stunning. Views are amazing. The site brings you back to the 30’s-50’s which was nice to see and feel the simplicity of life. Our room was however very small and the bathroom was extremely small. Breakfast was not included in the 420$/night charge. Parking is far from the entrance making transport of luggage difficult. Although the experience was special, the price was high.
What an incredible way to end our East Coast Road Trip. We wanted to do something special on our last night before heading home and so we booked this incredible accommodation.nAdam and Alex at reception were both fantastic! 10/10 customer service. Thank you Adam for going above and beyond for us and thank you Alex for answering all our questions and helping us with our family photos!nThe room was so beautiful.nThe outdoor pool space had a great vibe- my family just loved it.nThe grounds are stunning. So many places to explore!nThe brunch we had was really delicious.nThis is a very special property with incredible history. We absolutely highly recommend! It’s so worth it for a once in a lifetime experience.
