A venerable institution in the area, the Ezelle's experience is always worth the time, effort, and investment. The chicken never disappoints, the tenders are cooked perfectly, and all are accompanied by their honestly delicious home-style side dishes. The friendly service with a smile rounds up a great experience.
I keep hoping for better. The actual fried chicken is good but not great. The side dishes lack balanced flavor. The mashed potatoes taste like they are instant. The baked beans have too much acid in them so a bit more brown sugar could help. The rolls I don’t eat anymore. I actually ask to have them left out or just skip over them. It’s the idea of hot fresh fried chicken from a local company is why I continue to give this and other locations my support. The crews working at all of these locations work hard so I tip them accordingly. The recipes are out of their hands, but hopefully the higher ups continue fine tuning the recipes.

I love Ezell's in general. They are solely responsible for the 20 pounds I gained during the pandemic. Most locations serve up some pretty yummy food. The holidays were really hard for me this year. I buried my mom the day before Thanksgiving so I didn't really feel like celebrating anything. In my pathetic state I ordered myself some Ezell's on Xmas eve. You really made my night and I teared up from the kind gesture. The food was also excellent AND I got two drumsticks which is my fav! Thank you for saving the day and feeding me. It meant more than you will ever know <3
I love ezelles so much and I use to be a frequent customer of one down on Wallingford in Seattle, WA. I decided to start cutting my time and giving business to this one closer to my house. Never have had any complaints but lately I’ve been going there a couple days in a row around 8 - 9 and the chicken has just been lacking that special flavor. It’s been due to the chicken being so dry. When I say dry I just mean real dry that I haven’t even really been wanting to eat it after seeing it. I also always order the half pound chicken tender Original and they haven’t been quite like half pounds lately. After already being cracked up dry and tiny it’s only been about 2 more pieces in comparison to the 3 piece which you are paying less for. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed and will be giving my business elsewhere.
I have stopped here a couple of times. Each time I have picked up the original recipe. Including this time, which was about a half hour ago. The chicken is under seasoned. It needs salt. The fry is very blonde and the chicken is rubbery. I don't know how you do that. You get two stars because your rolls are the best and the potato salad is OK. Pretty sure I am done with you guys
Totally Enjoyable Southern COMFORT Food! I normally go to Wallingford location. So nice inside I had to SIT & MUNCH on Deep Fried Southern Goodness! Best GIZZARDS Ever! Liver = Crisp on Outside & Moist on Inside OKRA? Just like Mom Used to MAKE! Just NO FRIED CHICKEN HEARTS... Best
I got some chicken livers. I haven't seen them around anywhere. They were good. The roll was ordinary; I can't remember a soft white dinner roll that was anything other than ordinary. The Mac and cheese was OK; a pretty small serving for $4.49.
The cashier anticipated all my questions regarding the menu. The chicken was tasty but I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down. the Mac-n-cheese was better than expected.Food: 4/5
Edit: After leaving review about a bad experience I am impressed with how the staff and management of Ezell's has handled it. The responded to my review here and gave me instructions on a better place to contact them. I gave them my contact information on a Monday and got a call from the area manager within 24 hours. He was in the Edmonds restaurant that day researching the issue and cleaning and retraining the staff on practices and procedures. He offered to refund my entire order or give me a gift card. I opted for the gift card as I do like the food there and will be willing to try it again after some time. The incident happened, but this organization recieves 5 stars for their reaction to a bad situation. I’m wishing I would have read the newest reviews before ordering food from here today. I order lunch for my shop every pay day and this Ezell’s is on our rotation of places we order from. The last few times the quality seems to have been going downhill. We decided to give it another shot today and most of my crew did not feel well afterwards. Almost everyone had stomach issues and a few of us, myself included, have been going to the bathroom constantly. I am really concerned what actions Ezell’s as a company has taken since the suspected norovirus from another customer three days ago were. I will be checking with all of my employees this weekend to see how they are feeling after todays lunch. I hate to say it, but I do not think we will be ordering lunch from here again.
