I am LMAO at all the bad reviews about service.... It's a No Frills store guys, are you expecting to be handed a glass of champagne and caviar upon entering the store? I have never had an issue when shopping here. In fact they carry a few items that I can't find in the other local stores. Staff has been polite and absolutely within what I expect from a bargain grocery store.
Very very disappointing. Been there today around 5:10pm and the eat Indian girl named Kiran at cashier was so rude. There was no expression on her face when we were about to do our bill she didn’t even hand in us our receipt just threw on the belt like so rude and when one of my friend said that’s so friendly she didn’t apologized. That’s so rude of no frills. Its customers who gives stores their business and good customer service must be the priority of the stores. It’s been so long since I am living in Merritt but never had such experience. Sorry to say but if no frills gonna hire these kinda people to serve people then it’s their loss nor customers cuz they can go to save on foods to do grocery. It’s just the matter of good customer experience that’s it nothing else. Hopefully no frills try to do better in future. Very very disappointed this time like will think twice before going to no frills for groceries next time…

very disappointing. Items advertised are almost never in stock. Produce is terrible. They wanted $4.99/lb for cherries and they were shriveled and spotted. A lot of President's Choice brand items have disappeared. For several weeks they were totally out of 4 litre 2% milk. Who runs out of milk ? Today they had some, but it was very short dated. Went to Walmart and bought there. A week longer "best before" date. Shopping carts are no longer kept in the store. In winter, trying to wrestle a shopping cart over snow and ice is a bit tricky for seniors, not to mention the freezing handles. Clothing in store should be replaced with actual grocery items. Prices are high and quality is not. A lot of the shelves are half empty. For anyone not living in Merritt, they must wonder how we all survive. Extra Foods was far more superior.
My question is why do we prefer a store? This is because of the customer service, it provides . What will a person do after humiliation ?That lady with bob cut hairstyle does not know the basics of customer service.Wrongly accusing someone of theft is one royal mess up and simply ridiculous. Day before yesterday I bought a cardigan for my daughter from No frills and because of wrong size, i decided to exchange. But unfortunately i forgot to carry the receipt. I was blamed to steal it and lady even checked in CCTV footage to make sure I wasn’t stealing . she refused to exchange,forget return . This is the kind of behaviour a regular customer receive from this store. We left our family and the luxury of big city just to serve the people of this town do we deserve such treatment. I have been still traumatized from this incident.Tag was still on Cardigan and she could have scanned barcode and saw it. I got so frustrated that i threw away the cardigan in trash right in front of her before i left. We have been In Merritt when this store was Extra foods and what big difference in customer service since then.
I attempted to exchange three shirts that I bought that were too small oh, the supervisor stated that because I didn't have the original receipt I was not allowed to exchange them. I reviewed the actual store policy and she was in correct and I was allowed to actually exchange them without a receipt because the tags and everything we're still on the product. Extremely disappointed considering I don't live in Merritt.
No carts in the store, had to go back to parking lot for one. No signs telling you. Out of the 3 public washrooms, 2 were out of order with a lineup for the third lots of plumbers in Merritt. We were absolutely disgusted with the lack of quality produce, black spots on all heads of cauliflower, mouldy peppers in bags, wrinkled celery and cucumbers. Left without half of our list filled. Do not advise shopping there.
WORST COSTUMER SERVICE don't honor discount voucher who was on product and doesn't accommodate people with disabilities. I have fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis I parked in disabled parking but didn't know there was no shopping carts inside the store. stand up walking and carry charges is really difficult for me I used the mobile electric chair for disabled inside but supervisor casher told me you wont be able to bring it with your grocery to your vehicle outside so I politely asked her if someone can go get a cart for me outside so I can bring my grocery to my campervan she refused she told me to buy plastics bags and someone will help me to bring them to my van. I didn't want to waste so many plastic bags i had quite a big grocery is not good for the environment I dont need them usually i just bring the cart directly to my campervan since its also a home and have no place to store them and i have to pay for it. she was really rude and inflexible. I told her well this is reasonable accommodation for disabled people as when they let enter a blind person with assistance dog. She answered that doesn't alpply to her!! i was not happy but shut my mouth since I had spent over an hour doing my grocery and was exhausted and in pain I didn't want to restart somewhere else all I wanted is to go to the Campground and didn't plan to come back in town for a week or two. while shes scanning my grocery there was a. 50 cents discount sticker on St-Hubert ribs I told her to apply to the purchase of that product she said NO she pretending that it will just apply on next time i purchase I read all small characters on that voucher im a retired lawyer its clearly say that discount was applying on the purchase of that product it doesn't say anywhere that will apply on further purchase. I told her to read it She refused and still refused to apply the discount on the product. That was to much I cancelled my grocery purchase and say forget it im gona go to Wal-Mart Now its already beginning of evening im in pain and tired and still have to do groceries and put gas before driving to go get a Campground wich will be difficult in the dark. I cant believe that some store make it so difficult for their costumer all i asked was accommodation help to get a cart to bring my grocery to my van since there was no warning there was no cart inside the store and to apply the. 50 cents discount who was on that product. They lost a 250$ minimum sale and a regular costumer for future just bcause they didn't want to help with a cart and give the discount who was legitimate on the product. I asked to talk to manager she told me the owner was not there and she is the supervisor A slim mature lady with blond pony tail. They certainly need to provide better costumer services to their supervisors That person shouldn't be in charge and certainly not supervising the store and other employees
Love that I can get everything I need here, fresh fruits to diapers they've got the items I'm used to purchasing back when I lived in Alberta! Other stores don't have the items and won't add them to inventory, so Romeo's is where I go!
