The name speaks for itself!! My family used to buy tubs to bring home, and years later the tofu here is still just as delicious, smooth, and silky. Lots of options available, with the added bonus of being able to customize brown sugar or ginger syrup as additions! A hidden gem!
Their tofu pudding is so authentic and we went twice during 3 days in BC. Definitely will go again! We tried mixing w/ red bean and w/ black sesame, both combinations are good! Prefer served hot.
Fantastic and fresh Tofu Pudding. Two of us shared a hot bowl with sweet black rice $6. It is served without sugar so you can add as much or as little white liquid sugar, liquid ginger, or brown sugar as you like. Would come back and try more combinations!
A nice simple place serving tofu based desserts. The tofu was silky smooth and perfect in its blandness to be enjoyed with the self-serve heavily-gingered syrup or with the myriad of add-ons. Dine-in or take out, the tofu dessert here is wonderful in its simplicity. I enjoyed it too quickly and too enthusiastically to take pictures. I would definitely come back again.
Not bad, reasonably priced tofu/soy based desserts for the most part. Can also buy jugs or soya milk. Old school small dessert house and some savory choices. Tofu pudding is smooth and options for sugar. Not a whole lot of soybean taste though.
The tofu reminded me of my hometown. The food they served is simple just tofu with added toppings, the price is reasonable in Vancouver, they opened till late so you can come in and get some hot tofu after dinners.
The name of the store speaks for itself, EXCELLENT. The tofu is the most silkiest I’ve had. I usually get the hot version and it just hits the spot every time. There are many variety to choose from and they have snacks and a soy milk drink menu as well. If you feel like wanted more, they have tubs and jugs of tofu and soya milk for you to take out. They only accept cash so come prepared. Worth the distance and every penny!
The old Chinese male server with glasses did not look approachable; he did not make us feel welcomed. When I told him I wanted the sweetened tofu pudding, he had his back facing me and he took the tofu pudding from the fridge and poured the water out from the plastic container. No one would do that because there is always water with tofu; you cannot clear out the water from tofu. He obviously did not need to do that unless he did not want us to have the water from the tofu. Then he said the tofu pudding was not sweetened and he asked me for the kind of sugar syrup. I said ginger sugar syrup. Later, I found out that there was residue inside the container of ginger sugar syrup; I did not know what it was. It was gross. I told him I wanted the yellow bean pudding and he took it out from the fridge. Then he started to search for the tools to cut the pudding. I did not know if the tray and the knife for cutting the pudding were hygienic. Moreover, they did not have the chocolate tofu and the papaya tofu even though they were on the menu. When I asked him for two spoons, he did not answer me and went away. Then he asked me again. In general, he was ignoring customers when customers wanted to talk to him. He just talked to customers whenever he wanted. That was not customer service. In terms of their products, the texture and the taste of their tofu pudding were similar to the Sunrise tofu at the supermarket but the Sunrise one is half the price. The melon tofu pudding tasted stale because the top coat was chewy. The yellow bean pudding was inferior as well - they had bits of yellow beans instead of the whole yellow beans in the pudding and they used excess flour for the pudding. It was disappointing because this was a specialty store for tofu. Overall, this place is overpriced and overrated.
Never judge a place by it's appearance. Walking in to this place reminds me of some old 1980's dinner with low tables and rounded stools. Ordered a few Tofu dessert to go from a friendly staff. WOW.. these tofu dessert are just amazingly good, smooth, cold, and refreshing. The black sesame tofu was my favorite.
This shop is located in Central Square near Aberdeen Centre. Ordered fried stuffed tofu4 pcs, pan fried dumplings 5 pcs and a hot soy milk. Bill total $12.50 inclusive of tax. Using dirty oil to cook is a real put off as the end product all covered with burnt carbon. The microwaved soya milk was Luke warm. This family business surely don't careless about the quality of the foods they served. Very surprised that they could hang in there for a long time. They close at 11pm. Not recommended.
