A great place to enjoy nature as it is. The walking trail is natural with multiple humanmade wooden bridges over water bodies. You can walk up to the top to have a better view of the entire place. Great place to go alone, with friend or family. They don't have toilets everywhere so make sure to visit one at the building one before going in or after coming out. The bus stops right at the parking lot. They also have a cafe at the entrance building but they close up by 5 pm. The sound of the leaves when the wind goes through then is what I found most amazing about this place. The place is quiet even though there were a lot of people with kids and pets.
Lots of trails to enjoy a quick hike.. still so close to the city but feels like you're in a forest. The views of the city are also fantastic from here. We always bike here and find it quite challenging to dock our bike share bikes. It's great that there's bike path all the way here. There's always a farmer's market or vintage clothes going on here. So it's super vibrant but pretty expensive. We love it and visit in all seasons except in winter of course. Fall and spring are particularly beautiful.
I recently visited this place for the first time and loved it! What an awesome way to keep the history alive while breathing in life into it. I plan on coming back during their Saturday market but the Sunday I went was beautiful. It was a great day to go walking on their paths, reading about the history and learning about the wildlife. There needs to be more places like this that help us reconnect to nature.
Well maintained paved trails at the top and bottom level with nature all around! Going up to the top starting from the right side or left, it's a loop gives a great view of the hills and the city skyline. Once you reach the Don Valley Parks lookout, there's a small dirt path that takes you to the railway tracks. The path also connects to the Beltline trail. There is a small shop containing lots of knickknacks and potential souvenirs at the main entrance area. The cafe is also a lovely place to get refreshments or a meal. Plenty of seats and picnic tables around as well, although it does get crowded during popular times in autumn. Restrooms: There are bathrooms in the main building across from the cafe.
One of Toronto’s true gems, this urban oasis has it all. Great walking paths, tons of wildlife and a real sense of nature in the middle of our city. On a daily basis in the spring and summer you’ll see turtles, frogs, snakes and a plethora of birds. Originally where most of the bricks in Toronto came from this amazing place has been transformed. The farmers market in the summer months is a huge bonus. From fresh strawberries to delicious street food and if you’re lucky a live music performance I highly recommend a trip to the Brick works.
Great Oasis in the middle of the City and just off a major highway. Great cycle and walking trails. Nice place to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. A lot of effort is put in to keep the park clean and take care of the ecology and the various species of animals, birds and aquatic life.
Beautiful stop between the Bayview Multi-use trail and Beltline/Moore Ravine trails. Big open space, gorgeous all year long. Lots of history that can be read on the posts around the park. Farmer's market, Toronto bike share station, and boardwalk along the main pond. Great views up top the hill as well.
An abandoned site beautifully restored as a community garden. Home to native plants and so many species. Many different species of birds are only found here as they can find natural habitat and plants over here. Almost every 30 minutes, there is a shuttle service available to and fro from Broadview Subway station and the venue. I was here to attend an off-site event at one of their venue. Great rustic venues with modern & sustainable facilities. I was made aware that they have many other activities and tours on site.
Beautiful place to visit, especially in the fall. You can see the amazing colours as the tree changes and take a nice walk on the trail. It can get busy with visitors and parking can be challenging so I'd recommend taking the free shuttle from Broadview station. The vendor market was a nice addition to my visit and it was great to see different independent tables on display.
It is by far the prettiest park I've found in downtown Toronto! I like to find some nature trails in the city, and now is the best season to enjoy the maple, so I decided to visit this place. This park is lovely, and the trails are straightforward to walk. Overall, it is very, very enjoyable. It's the best time to visit this park, and I recommend it to everyone!
