Story

Evergreen Academy is a safe, comfortable and inclusive school community serving students in the Southern Niagara Region. We provide an alternative to learning where success is achieved through an inspiring and supportive environment. Small class sizes permit individualized attention and programming that is tailored for the strengths and needs of each student.

Evergreen's Grade School program goes beyond meeting expectations from the Ontario Curriculum. Students will be challenged as they explore and delve into personalized areas of study which coincide with their individual interests. Our project based learning will promote commitment, enhance personal development, and ignite student excitement about learning. Science and environmental topics are accentuated in our unique programming, and we endeavour to take advantage of every opportunity to bring our classroom outdoors, including frequent explorations our community. In addition to programming for learning in curriculum content areas, Evergreen embraces the development of personal character and learning skills to help prepare the students for success in a changing world. Furthermore, Evergreen strives to promote positive student behavior and to set high standards for student conduct with no tolerance for bullying.

Stepping Stones was developed for children ages 30 months to 5 years, and is a unique opportunity for Preschool students who are looking for a program with more than just play. This program is academically based with a focus on Literacy, Math and Science. There will be plenty of time for free play, outdoor play and many opportunities to explore locations around our community. The programming for each student is individualized and the learning is tailored to meet the strengths, needs and interests of each student.

The Evergreen philosophies centre on active, hands-on learning where students spend less time at desks doing paper and pencil work, and more time actively engaged in their learning. The teaching will be student-driven and involvement of both parents and students in the learning will ensure that they are receiving the support and education that they desire. Evergreen will provide frequent feedback to parents and students to monitor student success.
